Today was visitation day for various schools. So we checked on some of the children of our comrades who are not able to be present in their children's lives. We checked on Jeremiah, Olivia Lutaaya's son, and Nangooba Margaret, a daughter to our deceased comrade, Mukwaaya Edward. We also visited Kubulangira John Ramos, son to our brother, Achileo Kivumbi. We cannot thank enough, our comrades in the Diaspora, for raising funds which we are using to top up school fees, and meeting some other needs for these families. May God bless every hand that has contributed to this cause. @NubianBukenAli

I took this photo at Kayunga Regional Referral Hospital around May last year. For those who don't know what medical interns actually do, let me share a small story. One night as a medical student, I decided to spend time in theatre to learn. I was working with an intern doctor who was on call. That night, she had 6 emergency Caesarean sections to perform. I assisted in the first 3 surgeries and by around 3 am I was exhausted. I told her I was going to sleep because I had lectures at 8 am. the next morning. She smiled and told me to go. The next day, after my lectures, I passed through the postnatal ward and found the same doctor reviewing patients. She had worked through the night, spent hours in theatre, and was still on the wards attending to mothers. That was the day I truly understood that internship is not just another year of training. It is frontline hospital work. When people hear "intern," they often imagine someone observing and learning. In reality, many interns are reviewing patients, responding to emergencies, assisting and performing procedures, covering night shifts, and helping keep hospitals running. As the debate on intern allowances continues, I keep thinking about that night in Kayunga. If we expect young doctors to carry that level of responsibility and workload, can we honestly say their welfare doesn't matter?

Meanwhile, Parliament wants to expand Cabinet ministers from 21 to 30 and State Ministers from 31 to 51, a move that will cost taxpayers billions, with no clear ROI. There is money for political comfort, but no money for doctors in apprenticeship? Who bewitched our country?

Glad to witness the inauguration ceremony of my brother and comrade, Magala Umar of Kawempe who has taken oath as the Kawempe North Lord Councilor. When I made my ambitions clear that I would vie for the same position last year under my NUP Party flag, I was advised to harmonize with him and we gladly resolved that he carries the mantle. This gesture of stepping aside demonstrated solidarity and today we have reached here. I’m glad that my brother considers and values my sacrifice which is why he embedded me in his delegation to the pulpit. Thank you comrade @Magalaomar and I wish you the best of service for our people of Kawempe North.
