What troubles me most is when non-veterans invoke the service of a relative or friend to imply that their own words carry the same weight as those of an actual veteran. The familiar refrain - “My grandfather was in the military, so I know…” - is a perfect example. While we should all honor and respect those who have served, it is wrong to appropriate their valor as if it were your own.

I hear it all the time. "I was going to join the military, but (insert one of a thousand excuses here)" What the best one you've heard?

'Seasoning' refers to adding salt (or pepper) to food to bring out natural flavour. These people seem to be unable to eat ANYTHING without piling on multiple different spice blends.
