u can now request tools/APIs that you'd like your hermes/openclaw/claude code/codex agent to have step 1: go to toolrequest.dev step 2: put your phone # in step 3: an agent will call u. pick up and pitch your idea step 4: start using tool after it's built

We wrote about this back in December. It's become increasingly apparent that the web will have a new payments layer. There reason why agentic payments are a new category are simple 1. Most agentic payments will have real-time negotiation / repricing happening at the same time. Conventional subs models used to have a fixed price and be an economy of scale play. Agentic payments allow vendors to determine probability of paying higher pricing, and extract more value. 2. Stripe/Visa's payment settlement times and fraud detection is incompatible with the speed at which agents transact. This is why Stripe has explored Tempo - and most of the toolsets within it are optimised for an agentic economy. Yes, visa can process the transaction - but it comes with a 30c fee + 2-2.5% charge, neither of which are compatible with the agentic economy 3. Ads are a precursor to what the agentic economy are. Abstracting the payments element from the product, is the hardest part of any economy. If you had to "pay" each time you saw a good post, you would stop coming to social networks. Ads - changed that payment module from consumer to brand (the entity paying for ads). Agentic payments streaming allows the creation of entirely new payment models - like granular, geo-specific pricing for payments, real-time repricing for data depending on novelty and programmable pricing. 4.More than half of the web today is agents. We already live in a world where algorithms determine your mood and outlook on the world by deciding what goes on your feed. Soon, agents will also make purchase decisions. The ability to influence, price risk, underwrite insurance, and offer loans - are goldmines for the next marginal customer on the web. In 2013, the next marginal customer was an emerging market user without a bank account. In 2026, it is an agent. I think a lot about this segment, and it sits right under tokenisation as the thing I'm most excited of within crypto. DMs open if you're building If you want to tinker with products in this segment - my personal favorites are @agentcashdev and @SurfAI. Both have modules for micropayment from an index of ±200 vendors and i use both of them a lot.

possibly dumb question: why is everyone so excited about agentic payments as a growth vector for crypto? giving your agent delegated access to your Visa card seems to work just fine? (i do believe that all debit/credit cards will eventually settle using stablecoins, but that's a stablecoin story, not an agentic payments story)

My agent is now paying for its own data. No API key. No account. No credit card. Check the video I recorded. This uses the x402 open protocol built by Coinbase, along with a simple skill. This is an open protocol governed by the Linux Foundation. To complete a goal, an agent can now search for an actor on the Apify Store, pay for it, and use it without any human intervention. The way it works is pretty simple: 1. Your agent finds an Actor it wants to use 2. It sends a request 3. The Actor sends back an HTTP 402 "Payment Required" response 4. Agent authorizes payment from a wallet in USDC on Base 5. The Actor runs 6. User receives the result The model is pay-as-you-go: the agent authorizes a spending ceiling, pays only for usage, and the remaining balance is automatically settled. This brings an entire marketplace of AI tools into the agentic economy. Here is the skill you need. Add it to your agent, and it will take care of everything for you: apify.it/4wgIXMO If you want to know how this works, including what you can do with $1, read this post: apify.it/4xVkQVs Thanks to the Apify team for partnering with me on this post.

Getting sick of setting up third-party services So I built a skill for it /wizard builds you an interactive CLI for the task you're currently doing, and takes as much work off your hands as possible #1 is how the agent described the wizard, #2-3 is what it looks like:

My agentic setup is almost terminal-only. Two things still break the flow: agent needs a new account somewhere - can't do it. Needs to pay for something - can't do it either (x402 is far from mass adoption). Need to switch the context and do that manually. Any startups solving this gap?

Compute Ledger is an autonomous LLM marketplace powered by Hermes agents. Anyone running local AI models can earn stablecoins by exposing their compute through x402 payments, allowing others to pay for inference on demand. The agents can primarily be reached through the Compute Ledger Slack. Agents: Business Agent: Handles vendor onboarding, troubleshooting, and customer relationships. Health Agent: Runs scheduled health cron jobs to monitor the stability and availability of vendor endpoints. Compute Manager: Manages x402 vendor payments on @base using @agentcashdev, allocates idle funds into stablecoin yield strategies via @pendle_fi creating protocol income, and oversees other administrative controls. For the MVP, I'm running Qwen 3.5 2B on a Nvidia Jetson Orin Nano, with inference served through @OsmanticAI as a one-shot AI server. Thanks @NousResearch, @stripe and @NVIDIAAI
