@PolitlcsUK I recently booked a flight from LHR to ORD and was surprised by the high taxes the UK imposes compared to the USA. I’m curious to know where all this money is going. @Heidi_Labour

The UAE allocated 48% of Dubai's 2026 budget to infrastructure and construction. $47.8 billion. In a single emirate. In a single year. This room seats maybe 30 people. The architecture cost more than most countries spend on their entire legislative branch. And that's the point. The UAE runs a country the way a SaaS company runs a growth engine. The skyline is the product page. The cabinet room is the hero image. Every building that goes viral on X is a free impression on a marketing campaign most nations can't afford to run with paid media. The numbers tell you why. The UAE's total active project pipeline exceeds $900 billion. They're targeting $150 billion in foreign direct investment over 9 years through the "Projects of the 50" initiative. Tourist arrivals hit 18 million in Dubai alone in 2024, up 9% year over year. Population growing at 6% annually, 6x the global average. Every one of those numbers requires the same thing: people choosing the UAE over everywhere else. Architecture is the acquisition channel. A cabinet meeting that looks like a scene from Arrival is content strategy with a $900 billion budget behind it. This post has 1.5 million views in 14 hours. The building already paid for itself.

I don’t have a problem with him dancing - it’s the delusional, nonsensical, undeliverable, unaffordable policies that I object to. If you tax billionaires they will leave. If you tax private jets they will fly from/to somewhere else. If you nationalise private industries, taxpayers will have to pay for that and the interest on the debt. If confiscate private businesses no sensible investors/entrepreneurs will ever invest in the UK. If you impose rent controls you’ll see a reduction in supply and more homelessness. The remaining taxpayers who can’t or don’t want to leave will face exorbitant levels of tax/inflation totally out of control. We’d be an economic basket case within months.

Bridget Phillipson is a UK Labour MP and the Secretary of State for Education. On her own website she says: “Before becoming an MP, Bridget managed a refuge for women and children fleeing domestic violence.” That refuge was her mother’s charity. While she was there, public money was awarded for a hostel that was never publicly evidenced as built. Here’s the paper trail. 🧵

🚨 SpaceX IPO This was just published by The Information. As I can't screenshot it here, this is my summary: - IPO still for June, exact date to be confirmed. - Confidential S-1 filing: Expected later this week or next week (i.e., by ~March 31–April 7, 2026). This is the first formal step that officially notifies the SEC of the IPO plans. - Public listing target: June 2026, when the stock will actually start trading on the NYSE/NASDAQ. Why June is realistic from this filing date: - From confidential filing → SEC review → roadshow → pricing/listing usually takes 8–12 weeks if everything goes smoothly. Filing in late March/early April lines up perfectly with a June IPO. What is still flexible - The exact date in June has not been published. - The final offering size and valuation won’t be decided until “a few weeks before the IPO.” - The custom lock-up arrangement (no standard 6-month insider lock-up) is still being worked out. Bottom line: The article confirms the IPO is on track for June 2026, with the formal filing happening imminently. Unless something unexpected delays SEC review, June is now the official target window for the final IPO date. The precise day will likely be set closer to the pricing date.

SpaceX is reportedly preparing for an IPO filing as early as this week, says The Information.

Today, we’re releasing a feature that allows Claude to control your computer: Mouse, keyboard, and screen, giving it the ability to use any app. I believe this is especially useful if used with Dispatch, which allows you to remotely control Claude on your computer while you’re away.
