@christopherrufo @shadihamid @washingtonpost That is the # 1 question. Why leave your country of origin if you want to maintain everything about your country of origin. Stay home or go back home but don’t ask the place you migrated to, to bend for you, it’s been tried, doesn’t work.

@vincentdonofrio Mr. D’Onofrio. The best advice for someone in a position like yours is to post and ghost. Don’t read the comments, don’t engage, there is zero benefit. The only things that matter are the face to face moments. The trolls love the kind of threat you posted, don’t give them fuel.

I will however stop communicating on my X account if the negativity continues. I believe most of you will understand that why should we deal with negative comments or badgering of any kind in life if we can just turn it off. Especially when our own lives can be hard enough sometimes. Wouldn't you all agree? So let's keep the fun rolling and in a positive way shall we.

@ConceptualJames That’s pretty disingenuous of you James. You know there are hours of audio from the three mentioned, you know they don’t seek or need “clout” especially Rogan. That is a far cry from DeNiro, Kimmel and the like. Your post is thoughtless at best and all around stupid.

The thing about Dave Smith, Theo Von, and even to a degree Joe Rogan is that none of them are "failed comedians." They're all really successful, like private jets and huge venues. It's that they're what they claim to hate: dumb celebrities weighing in on politics for clout.

@IAmVicSarmiento You have that in “mainstream” productions, the differences is secular media is willing to waste money and write it off in the back end of tax season.

The #1 issue that Christian filmmakers always bring up: Funding. Not talent. The #1 issue that I see in Christian films: Poor production quality. Bad story. Bad actors. Bad filmmaking. These are not always mutually exclusive.

You try to do your best work, create out of passion and part ways when you must. The economy is changing faster than anyone can predict so all any of us can do is our best

I see a lot of people talking about Matt Dinniman denouncing @TheCriticalDri2 despite working with him previously, claiming he now "regrets" it. I'd like to offer some perspective. Anyone who wants success within the mainstream's traditional pipelines knows that even mild association with people in our corner of the internet puts that at risk. Is it illogical? Yes. But the mainstream doesn't operate on logic... it operates on status. Perceived legitimacy is powerful, and alternatives with large followings are seen as threats to their power infrastructure. So anyone still pursuing those mainstream channels will eventually be pressured to denounce or distance themselves from people in our circle, or they simply won't get the opportunities. The mainstream's cultural influence has waned, but they still control the pipelines. It's very rare for someone to access those channels while openly associating with "alternatives." We know this is foolish. People like Drinker are enormously influential and successful in their own right, but this is about power, not merit. We've had the privilege of working with The Critical Drinker on Rippaverse projects, and he's been nothing but professional. As with many in our space, his loudest critics don't actually listen to what he says, which is why they portray him as someone who hates every movie despite that being verifiably false. They need you to be whoever they need you to be in order to justify what they're going to do or say about you. Rippaverse itself has turned down or lost opportunities because of this dynamic. They'll demand you distance yourself from certain people or they won't collaborate with you. Not because you're bad, but because they want to stay in the good graces of those who've built a narrative that you are. This is why I don't have a clean answer for how we get past this era. They deploy tactics that people like us — not "right-wing," just normal people — aren't willing to engage in.

@JonasJCampbell It was shockingly good. Although the dropped it all at once, the wife and I treated it like a once a week ep and we really enjoyed it, great story and acting all around.

I haven’t seen season 1, but I respect the audacity of green lighting a season 2 of a show that by all accounts they didn’t believe in.

Unpopular Opinion: I like when superhero projects race swap. 🤷🏿‍♂️ The major heroes of Marvel and DC were created in a time of intense racism. Editors discouraged non-white heroes because they feared they wouldn't sell. So with that historical context in mind, tactfully diversifying those heroes in the modern day feels like righting a past wrong. If the shoe were on the other foot and Marvel and DC were filled with primarily black heroes because society was racist against non-black people for centuries, I would also advocate for race swapping to right that past wrong. The world is full of different kinds of people...and I think our superhero media should reflect the world as it is. Not just how a certain group wants the world to be. We can't keep holding ourselves to the aesthetic standards of the intolerant world that existed last century. We're making media for the present. Not the past.

Here’s why this won’t be good, and it isn’t because “the James Gunn model” has resulted in one decent movie, ever. It’s because Mistborn isn’t very good, and every protagonist dies. General audiences don’t want to see every main hero die. Sanderson is so overrated.

And not just whatever the model spews out. Craft it to look and feel exactly like you want. With no variance. You will quickly see how complex and human the process actually is.
