GPU-powered robotics is having its LLVM moment - one kernel, every edge SoC, no vendor lock-in. Mojo builds on MLIR, SYCL compiles through LLVM, both trace back to 20+ years of @clattner_llvm's compiler work. Thank you, Chris. @Modular's blog: modular.com/blog/translati…

As a side project I've been porting those same navigation kernels to @Modular's Mojo w/ Claude. For EMOS benchmarking suite, same Mojo binary, no per-target tuning: • Mojo edges out SYCL on both • Strix Halo vs Jetson Orin AGX (50W): 3.2-7.1x faster across the full nav suite.

At @__automatika__ we ship EMOS (the EmbodiedOS), with the world's first autonomous robot navigation stack with cross-vendor GPGPU kernels (SYCL). Control loops upto 3,106x faster from CPU bound, dense mapping 1,850x. Same code, on NVIDIA + AMD + RPi. x.com/__automatika__…

We benchmarked our GPU-accelerated robot navigation against CPU-based stacks. 3,106x faster trajectory evaluation. 1,850x faster occupancy grid mapping. Not a typo. Here's how — a thread. 🧵👇

@MamounSakkal @microMAF When i first saw it i thought it was Allah, then i saw the other letters and went from Bismillah to MashAllah. There is a study on epigraphy on Delhi monuments but this is too minor so isn't included.

@MamounSakkal @iamrana @microMAF Indeed possible, however, ملاذ is اسم مکان so it should be possible to say الملاذ باللؔہ or الملاذ إلی اللؔہ / الملاذ للؔہ .. as “ل” is a حرف جر one of its meanings is a reference to the final destination, which would make sense for a tomb inscription

@ahrasheed @iamrana @microMAF Excellent, this accounts for the Dal shape, however, the typical proper phrase would be in this case الملاذ بالله and this can't be accounted for in the current design since it requires an additional ascender stroke.

By age 3 you should have learnt ancient Greek; Latin by age 8. By the age of ten you read Plato and Demosthenes with ease. By 12, political economy and logic. In your early teens you publish defences of utilitarianism. Aged 20, after a mental breakdown, you discover poetry.

My biggest discovery this late at night is of the Persian term Khur Be Teshdeed i.e., a doubly accented ass. Can think of many situations where it may come in handy to describe less than sage interlocutors. (Found in classic The Adventures of Hajji Baba of Ispahan by J.J. Moreir)

@azforeman It does indeed. And retains the prosody and rhythm intended in classical verse. Its been hard to convince iranians though.
