@ahugel71 @EdwardJDavey Because I dont want too. I want him to win, so we can put this ridiculous undemocratic behaviour to bed once and for all. All these parties are litterally such a gift to farage and they dont even understand it yet. They will do one day.

I’ve written to the Prime Minister urging him to give Labour MPs a free vote on our amendment to the King’s Speech. A UK-EU Customs Union is a vital first step in rebuilding our relationship with Europe. MPs must be free to vote for what is best for our economy and our country.

@paulyc197 @EdwardJDavey I don't get the logic here. If you think Farage being PM is a foregone conclusion, why not try to do something drastic to change that trajectory?

@EdwardJDavey Just let it go Ed. Its not happening. Labour wouldn't be as stupid as to make themselves even more unpopular. You really need to forget it. Farage will be in charge come 2029 amd itll all be reversed anyway.

Korea is ahead of the curve on everything. If you wanted to see where our society was going to be today, just go to Seoul 10 years ago. Every single trend, from looksmaxxing to salaryman margin gambling to jailing former presidents started there first. They are speed running the end of history, and possibly, whatever comes next, they will be at the beginning.
Roger@rdd147

Koreans have now maxed out margin on KOSPI and are directly going to banks for loans. People that are 60 have never owned trading accounts and now it’s the fastest growing age group entering to buy leveraged semiconductors. Just one article of many describing the madness. $soxx $dram koreatimes.co.kr/amp/economy/20…

Surprising, not surprising. Germany has many pockets of industrial and deep tech strength left. But if you follow the public debate it sometimes feels like a lot of folks have forgotten it. Germany also continues to excel in clean technologies - dare I say it.

@Fremond_ I know that Australia and Canada have been very interested in moving a lot closer to Europe recently. Maybe there could be a middle power alliance with the EU/EFTA Countries, UK, Canada, Aus, NZ, Japan & South Korea. institutdelors.eu/en/publication…

This is not correct. The U.K. returning to the EU would make America’s sorry parade of Boris Yeltsin and Russia across the world stage look tame and sober in comparison. Rejoining the EU is the coward’s way out. That Brexit has thus far not been a success is due to our own poor political class, not because we are no longer sending people to Brussels.
Anthony LaMesa@ajlamesa

Brexiteers don't want to hear it, but the EU would enthusiastically welcome the UK back and move mountains to make it happen.

@Sussexbrighton4 @Quant48 @jessicaelgot The bloke who deliberately missed the vote to prosecute veterans or not? Seems just the leader we need. Someone who sees power and money being more important than ex soldiers. Reform will have a field day with that.

Thoughts from a Labour MP: “We have to face up to the fact every single one of them is fucking useless. Andy’s strategy has been a disaster. Angela bottled it. Ed clearly a hiding to nothing. Wes AWOL. God knows what Catherine West is doing. Not quite sure how we ended up here.”

@questron7 @AlexTaylorNews perhaps on the contrary, it's actually good for him. He rose to power on massive public support, and by engaging with the public in this way, it insulates him from this.

@AlexTaylorNews Magyar is absolutely doing the right thing, but at the same time he's making himself very, very vulnerable by not doing it low key. Upcoming scandals that he has no control over, will be easy to blame and target him for.

@Discoplomacy Just because the majority votes for something, does not automatically make that decision justified and well-reasoned. See the Brexit vote for an example.

Pleased to speak to @guardian about Reform’s energy plans. V much welcome the focus on the cost of living, jobs and growth. Renewables are the cheapest form of new power we can build, while supporting British industry, local jobs, ports, factories, supply chains and coastal communities. But energy is still far from affordable and we should all be asking what we can do to take more cost out of the system and accelerate getting off imported gas. I did highlight one policy would be a mistake - tearing up existing Contracts for Difference. These are legally binding contracts, and undermining them would damage investor confidence far beyond renewables, without cutting bills. Looking forward to discussing the many areas where we do align - above all on the need to secure affordable, home-grown energy as soon as possible. theguardian.com/environment/20…

Somewhere in New York City, a kid sat by a big old radio, pencil in hand, listening to John Sterling, writing down every score, picturing every pitch, every swing, every roar of the crowd. And when his voice rose, “It is high! It is far! It is gone!”, that kid jumped like they were right there in the Bronx. He gave that kid a seat their parents could never afford. That was the story of thousands of kids across New York City. That voice, that feeling, that connection to the game, it will never be replaced. Rest in peace, John.
