@BeijingDai I can tell you Chinese central government put not a tiny hope on KMT for reunification. China is ready, and choosing a Taiwan leader to comfort Taiwan ppl after the reunification.

In fact, over the past few decades, chairs of the Kuomintang (KMT) have visited the mainland many times, including when the KMT was the ruling party in Taiwan. Such visits have never carried much practical significance. However, it's clear that Western and Japanese media, as well as many anti-China Westerners, are now in a state of panic over China's growing influence. Their mindset has become overly sensitive—they tend to exaggerate the threat of even a visit as insignificant as this, almost seeing enemies in every shadow. At the same time, some pro-China Western accounts are also exaggerating, portraying the visit as a major breakthrough, which is clearly not true either.

@haugejostein Because you’re not a tourist in Europe man. Also you’re a white man in China, that’s always a privileged position as you may know. I’ve had all kinds of offerings from strangers while on travel in Europe.

I'm on a train in China, and was just offered cake by a random person sitting next to me. Not once has that happened in hundreds of train trips in Europe.

Is it really that hard to put the charging plug back? You can afford a nice car, but you can’t buy manners.

Really fond of China, but not its food. I'll get some kickback on the comments here, apologies, but all my friends struggle with it. It could be my area, it could be just bad luck. I don’t know. However, we all agree that a British Chinese meal is the best in the world and one of our favourite foods.

@MaximusWrighty @NumbChunks @CleansedTweets 在中国人的饮食习惯中,带筋络的肉不管风味和口感都是最佳的。像鸡胸肉,多数中国人都不爱吃,而英国人恰好相反,除了鸡胸肉别的部分都不吃。

@AutismCapital Completely false and poetically one of the reasons China keeps winning. This is disinformation. China is the biggest middle class, biggest market for bmw.. literally nobody cares about democracy or being a bureaucrat. Total nonsense. They want wealth and comfort. Like all people.

🚨 JIANG: “I’ve been in China for 25 years and I can tell you that there is almost no interest for a democracy in China. For a democracy to exist in China you would need to have people who respected human rights, individual liberty, who had empathy, and who believed in the rule of law. The reality is that in China the system is set up so that the ultimate objective is to become a bureaucrat. That’s what all Chinese people aspire to. The higher you climb the bureaucracy the better. Traditionally China has been an empire and in order to survive in an empire you become a civil servant. That’s why Chinese work so hard in school. So they can pass the civil servant examination to become a bureaucrat so they can provide guarantees and protection to their family.”

China: building codes are just different. This a building site like any other? No. The video shows the front of the building. A coffee shop, bar, clothes shop & showroom, all open for business. I am going for a beer there tonight. 🙈

Your kids are going to grow up in a world where China will be their model society in terms of technology, commerce, culture, and even governance. They will idolize and idealize the place as a fantasy wonderland and society. They will want to study there, visit there, and even move there(sadly for them, most aren't getting in.) You see how crazy the Japan simping is right now? 40 years past Japan's economic peak? The China simping will be 10X that level by 2040. Because China has won the end of history.

For Taiwan, the coming week is of critical importance—a moment that history will surely record. Kuomintang (KMT) Chairwoman Cheng Li-wen is scheduled to visit mainland China from April 7 to April 12. This marks the first visit by a KMT chairperson in a decade (a period during which the geopolitical landscape has shifted dramatically); it is anticipated that CPC General Secretary Xi Jinping will personally receive Cheng Li-wen for a "Xi-Cheng Summit." Analysts view Cheng Li-wen's visit as an opportunity for the KMT—currently facing a host of domestic and international challenges—to turn the tide of the political battleground. If the "peace card" she plays gains traction, it could not only neutralize the "anti-China card" frequently deployed by the Green Camp but also provide an opportunity to appeal to swing voters and secure more favorable policies from the mainland toward Taiwan. Given the reality that the United States no longer possesses the capacity to guarantee Taiwan's security—particularly in light of Trump's mercurial temperament and his penchant for political deal-making—Washington appears to be accelerating both the extraction of arms sales revenue from Taiwan and the transfer of Taiwan's advanced semiconductor manufacturing technology and talent. The timing of Cheng Li-wen's visit to mainland China—occurring just prior to Trump's own visit to Beijing—leaves ample room for speculation and conjecture. Cheng Li-wen's itinerary—proceeding from Nanjing through Jiangsu and Shanghai, and ultimately arriving in Beijing—is also highly symbolic. Nanjing is home to the mausoleum of the KMT's founder, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, and once served as the capital of the Nationalist government. Jiangsu boasts a highly developed private sector economy and is home to a large community of Taiwanese businesspeople and expatriates. Shanghai stands as China's vanguard of openness and its financial hub; finally, Beijing—serving as the most critical and final stop on the tour—will be the focal point for discussions regarding political and peace-related issues. When your opponent is making a mistake, never interrupt him. Continue to advance your own core agenda.

A two-hour, 75-mile Didi (Uber) trip from the centre of Guangzhou to the neighbouring city of Shenzhen costs as little as £36 for a standard car or £70 for a luxury car. The luxury cars are really impressive. The driver wears a suit. The cars tend to be top-of-the-range Chinese electric cars. Bottles of water are provided and sometimes snacks. Sometimes you get lucky and get a Xiaomi ❤️
