It's interesting that the TUV has targeted me on their social media after last night's council.. Political debate is one thing, but I've struggled to find another example of them using a clip like this. It's targeted & a deliberate attempt to stoke vitriol online, aimed at me.

This is literal madness in a climate emergency. Invest in rail- the answer is right there but no, they'll literally burn money speeding up the demise of our planet instead. 🙄🤯 How parties are welcoming this is beyond me- they can't be trusted with the environment (or much else)

Solidarity with @JennaMaghie & the blatant sexism she faced in the chamber of @belfastcc last night. There are little enough women's voices heard in the chamber, to be then met with this shit.. it's 2025 folks, some of you need to go & have a word with yourselves & your attitude!

@votailMcP @bbctheview Gender equality is of course part of this (it's part of everything), but you're right- the issue with the panel isn't just that it's all men, it lacks racial diversity too- as much of our politics does & ill acknowledge we've as much to do on that as other parties.

Seriously? Could the DUP, UUP, SDLP, Alliance & TUV not find a single woman between them? Manels in 2025 have no excuse, least of all given the context these racist pogroms have been stirred up in. If you need more diversity @bbctheview other options are available.. just saying👋

Thankfully we have the formidable, eloquent & all-round superstar that is @s_marms on to balance things out & actually talk sense, facts & compassion after a lot of bluster from men spreading hate & disinformation, attempting to distract from their own political failures. 🙃

There's been a shameful dereliction of duty here. HOW is it that hard to come out & be very clear racist scum have no place here? What's it going to take before any leadership is shown?! Instead they say/do nothing at best, at worst they parrot their language & allow it to fester

In a much needed bit of good news for Belfast, @belfastcc has agreed to move forward to purchase the Assembly Rooms! Bringing this historic & culturally significant building back into public ownership is a landmark move & I'm excited to see what the next chapter holds for it!

@DavidNevin @belfastcc Surveys have been conducted but still won't know full extent until have proper access. This isn't something that anyone is doing on a whim. It's taken years to get here & a lot of options explored- ultimately though this building should be in public ownership.

It's 2025 folks. Wise the f up. Paramilitaries are a scourge on our communities, offering nothing but fear & violence. This happens because of a lack of political leadership, & continued facilitation & legitimisation of these groups. I honestly despair for our future sometimes..
