@martymadrid @andruyeung Who's "we"? Everyone on here really buying coffee every morning?
These "trends" not catching on is largely due to the influence of companies who would lose money if your needs aren't continually outsourced to them.
I think we're smarter than that now.

We don’t make our coffee, make our lunch, change our own oil or even our own tires. Nothing on the trend line indicates that people will long-term want to build their own apps — trending behavior actually shows the exact opposite.
It’s a “hobby” and a short lived trend the likes of the Soda Stream and Keurig — remember when everyone had a Soda Stream and an Instapot?

I don’t see the point in downloading new apps anymore when I can just make my own, perfectly customized to my tastes
Wanted a news app tailored to my interests. Claude Coded one in an hour. Better, more useful and more personalized than anything on the market.
We’re in the era of personal software.

Ok, gloomer. We think in the future that family might all be staring at their phones - at the same family game app one of them playfully whipped up. It's got them laughing and connecting. The whole family's dopamine cup filled up alongside their Cokes.

I walked past a restaurant and saw a family of three sitting together, all staring at their phones, not talking, drinking Coke. I think in the future there will be fewer financial gaps, but much bigger dopamine gaps. The same technology that makes life cheaper and more comfortable will also widen those dopamine gaps. We’re building increasingly addictive products, and with AI-generated content, resisting cheap dopamine will get harder and harder. Agency is the real moat.

I mean... yeah, of course ads don't belong in AI. If this incredible technology just becomes another stream of the unavoidable advertising barrage that the rest of big tech has saturated our daily lives with then it will benefit no one but the folks lining their pockets.

Anthropic just took a big swipe at OpenAI's decision to put ads in ChatGPT. Anthropic is airing ads mocking ChatGPT ads during the Super Bowl, and they're hilarious 😅 Anthropic is also committing to no ads in Claude theverge.com/ai-artificial-…

@airnozel made a daily good news app that delivers stories of hope and human kindness.
“We see the bad stuff everywhere all of the time. I need this app to keep me sane.”

@corbtt Yes it’s true but you don’t need Claude Code, just the Anthropic Chrome extension. I just used it to produce 10 mini-apps from 1 high level prompt. Just sit back and watch!

@Snapcrackle @dabit3 We're at a similar inflection point to the one that early C compilers brought. Assembly language programmers were right that hand-coded was better. Then compilers got more sophisticated; CPUs more complex. Soon compilers were producing superior machine code than 99% of humans.

@DataChaz I really like hatchcanvas.com - great visual canvas, any generative model you want.
