Insane how much of the world is completely made up. People do or refuse to do things because of beliefs held so strongly in their mind that actually do not exist and have no real basis in reality.
To really understand this you have to put yourself in environments where beliefs you hold yourself (often you didn’t even know you held) are completely shattered, and you realise how nonsensical it was to hold them in the first place.

Truly wtf - this is the highest exposure Gurdjieff ever got, probably. I don't get why people are so into this.. Was a quick in the moment tweet like I often do. Out of the millions who saw this, I'm sure some will dive deep into the rabbithole. So interesting really.

@wetfinger @lukebelmar become Catholic brother. papal infallibility was clearly dogmatized at the third council of constantinople, and filioque has always been affirmed by the fathers + scripture, where the denial of it leads to metaphysical absurdity (inability to distinguish Son and Holy Spirit, etc)

When I was a child I used to play this MMORPG where there was a hack.exe to farm accounts on autopilot. Character just farms, uplevels, etc all on itself.
I remember leaving my computer open all night, not being able to sleep, then waking up with total energy and excitement in the morning to check what drops were there after a full night of bot farming my account.
Never really had that feeling again. Running ads came kinda close but not exactly. Hiring and delegating and systems also felt close but comes with other problems often. They get better as you get better, but doesn't "hit" like crack cocaine.
For the past few weeks though - building with AI feels eerily close to it. It's a new thing. Amazing stuff.

Imagine being thrown into a video game as a character - but there's literally ZERO guide. You have no idea about what the game is, nor what the character is about & can do.
I'd like to say this is a good metaphor for life but it isn't - because in life, you not only experience the exact scenario above, but also are taught & made believe a gazillion INACCURATE information about both yourself + the game.
What's the solution? Understanding yourself. Understanding your nature. Understanding how it interacts with reality.
That confusing, suffer-y, effort-y game would turn (very rapidly) into a completely enjoyable game where you thrive. Night & day. Is this an overstatement? Not even close.
You can not thrive without understanding yourself. You will always underperform if you're doing things against your nature. Put Elon into an art school - biggest loser, total failure. Are you any different?
