Law enforcement agencies have turned their attention to an inside-out approach to fighting drug and substance addiction in the country, with state‑funded rehabilitation programs now targeting addicted security officers. This will position the rehabilitated officers as credible role models for thousands of other addicts to emulate. PS @ray_omollo says many of those battling the scourge have resorted to drugs and alcohol as solace from the life-threatening risks associated with their daily duties and prolonged exposure to high-stress environments. The PS added that through @NACADAKenya and other stakeholders, the government is now seeking to escalate counseling services and stress management programs for these officers with the intent to avert the destructive path of substance abuse.
