@CitizensBank When I asked to speak to a @CitizensBank supervisor that can expedite & escalate the situation considering this stemmed from a fraud case over 1mos ago I was told there was no one else I can speak to. Looking for assistance to get this resolved today - all suggestions welcome!

@CitizensBank I was told that the @CitizensBank rep gave me incorrect information and now I have to wait 5-7 days for a claim to be processed and then I can close the account.

Here’s a story about a Billion Dollar Bank with Beer Budget Customer Service. Today is day 37 of trying to close my account with @CitizensBank but the story actually began in 2022 when @HSBC transferred my account to Citizens and the debit card and pin were stolen in the mail.🧵1

@tojulius I made a rule a long time ago for a similar reason - no free creative! Although it has worked, I’ve still shot myself in the foot at times beginning production work without signed contracts b/c the lead time is so short… All that to say - I feel your pain & It sucks.

A few months ago, a major event tech company got in touch and committed to a large budget for a project together. I blocked the slots for them and provided creative briefs. I also paid for the resources needed to produce what they asked. They canceled everything. I lost money, but did not say anything. These things happen, and relationships matter. Today I see the idea I gave them used with another media. Great learning for me, never deal with these people. Ever again.

3.5 hours in. People want to go on holiday but keep opening the Boldpush newsletter. It’s the type of addiction I endorse.

Everybody is commenting 'great' on your 'we are going to IMEX' post, but the reality is that nobody cares. I've managed presence for many companies and attended for many years. My unofficial guide to doing business at IMEX: 1. Buyers are in meetings -> Book more meetings Aim for 50/60 pre-booked. Walking into the show with less than 20 meetings is a failure. 2. Provide some form of value. Free drinks and coffee will only deliver freeloaders. Unless you are using them to have better meetings. 3. It's a good idea to sync your annual announcement with IMEX. Product release, merger, acquisition. 4. The community spirit is great, but 'spirit' doesn't pay the rent. Remember, you are there to do business and not to party. 5. Booth placement matters a lot. It could be the difference between a great and a bad year, revenue-wise. Too late to change it now. 6. Too many statements on your booth design are an immediate pass for most. There is no time to understand what you are about by reading a poem. 7. Side events don't count. I never got anything by attending many of these. In most cases, freeloaders love them, and trying to get you invited won't deliver anything. Focus on buyers. 8. Serendipitous conversations are great, but again, stay on the buyers; if you dedicate the whole event to feeling part of the community, you will feel energized but with little business done. 9. Pick your booth staff right. They need to understand the industry. If you plan to use the event to train your staff, don't let them handle meetings. You have to be on the ball. 10. Attend sessions where you will meet buyers. If you are at IMEX for business, you have the rest of the year to learn about events. IMEX is a great experience to learn more about the industry, be inspired by the content and feel part of a family. If these are your priorities, disregard all of the above. P.S. I'll see you at the Smartsource booth, where I will deliver three exclusive and free eventtech sessions. Spaces are limited, so make sure you reserve your spot. It is the only opportunity to catch me at the show.

@tojulius As a planner, I’m so sick of panels, as an attendee I appreciate a well curated conversation. But I agree the biggest opportunity for conferences is to thoughtfully facilitate relationships & meaningful interactions among attendees.

Most conferences these days revolve around on stage interviews and panels. That’s 2005. Forward thinking events feature: - high connection opportunities - many activations - white space - facilitated business - intimate micro events

@tojulius It’s crazy the amount of quality experiences these small teams produce. Im sure it’s difficult yo innovate when you’re just trying to get through the next project..and don’t get me started about how unsustainable it is for their health and wellness…

Every day I speak to Head of Events or Event Marketers working on owned programs with 5/10 shows, thousands of attendees and a team of 3. This is why I don’t buy the narrative that event professionals are not forward thinking. It’s impossible to think about technology and other soft touch items in such conditions.

@Wayfair Your customer service representatives are horrible. I’m a repeat customer & have been trying to resolve an issue with a defective product I received which also had a misleading description on your website and can’t get a manager to speak with me. @wayfairatwork what is going on?

Ok major milestone alert: January first I made an intentional decision to focus on content creation on LinkedIn. - I posted 3/4 times a week consistently for 9 months - I also ramped up my newsletter and posted weekly - I posted consistently on X and repurposed some of the content Results: - 10,000 followers added on LinkedIn - 5,000 newsletter subscribers - 10 new clients added - 6 figure media partnerships We are on track to creat a 7 figure business on year 1. Great inspiration to be decisive was @thejustinwelsh - listening to his conviction on podcasts helped a lot.
