Carlos Yulo is the first male Filipino gold medalist in the Olympics. What a hero! I was watching a replay of his routine and the awarding ceremony early this morning and was standing and crying. I was inspired to create a simple graphic of him holding up a flag. The "Y" of his raised arms is for "YULO" and forms the "Y" of the Philippine flag. Plus the sun falls right behind his head like a crown. Thought that was a clever execution. I hope we have more gold medals in the future. Mabuhay ang Pilipinas! #designerstories #CarlosYulo

Designed in 1986 by Landor, the Philippine Airlines (PAL) is still one of world’s best airline logos in my opinion. Hoping to design an airline logo one day.

@ajdimarucot Merch is dope. Never had a chance to work with it yet but it’s on my list. Need to knack up my illustration skills.

@0xCharlota @amfonte You just described me as graphic designer who has done some UI work. Simple landing pages are - ton easier than a dashboard with so many components.

It takes some learning curve, still. For example, some graphic designers might struggle with scale and sizes and relationships between interactive components, if they were used to designing posters / packaging / social media assets. Also, they often have the urge to add some special treatment to every component (i certainly struggled with that!)

Ever been a brand designer asked to design a few product screens? Ever been a UI designer asked to build a visual identity? In this week's Working Notes, I wrote about how brand designers can ease into product work, and how UI designers can dip their toes into branding. 👇

@Joshua_Ariza This is correct. They also pay up to $2,500 in my experience. Which is cheap for purchasing full rights. But having said that, some clients just can’t afford Nike rates.

This quarter, I’ve closed multiple $1M+ without a slide deck. I’m using a single AI tool. Today, I want to share it, free. After signing, a prospect asked me how we created the site. They were so wow-ed they wanted it for their own clients. Here’s what floored them: it took a single designer 5 minutes to prompt and launch. The AI chains together 6 key parts of our sales process, turning a 18-page deck into a single, personalized website. When they asked, I gave them this template and workflow. Now I want to share it for free: Follow me + comment “GA” and I’ll DM it.

I had a dream: to build a directory of the next generation of designers. Reply with a name and a website. It doesn’t have to be on this app. Let’s see what we can do for them.

Truly blown away by a new AI image model launching this week ✨ Finally, you can generate photos that actually look like you! It's so much better than everything I've tried - from LoRAs to NB Pro. Onboarding some early testers. DM or comment if you want access 👀

This feels like cheating. People pay $30-$50 for custom city map posters on Etsy. Someone just open-sourced the exact same thing for free. It's called TerraInk. Its a cartographic poster engine built on OpenStreetMap data. Type a city. Customize everything. Download and print. What you get: → Any city on Earth via OpenStreetMap → Roads, water, parks, building outlines → Full theme and color control → Custom fonts via Google Fonts → PNG export, print-ready The whole thing runs in your browser. No account. No subscription. No checkout. Self-host it with one Docker command if you want it completely yours. 100% Open Source. MIT License. Live app: terraink.app

@michellzappa @ihtesham2005 Is there a way for me to use it as overlay map and click the heatmap to view my photos? Basically a map layout of all the places I’ve visited through photo albums
