@ravihanda I am quite appalled with your bias. Especially the punch line at the end. Selling is fundamental to any successful organization, being bad at it isn't the right theory to diss the job itself. Even negotiating a salary at an interview, is selling right ?

I have done sales multiple times as a part of my career. No doubt it is an important job and someone needs to do it. But it is a sad and humiliating experience. The customers don’t treat you that well. The bosses just reduce you to a number. There is always pressure to meet targets. Your efforts are not valued - the results are. And in sales, it is often not completely in your control. May be I was bad at it. May be my sample space is not big enough. But sales roles, specially in India, should be picked up if you have no other option left.
