Neither Pettit, nor Cofnas, were indicted, let alone convicted, of any criminal offense whatsoever. And you are not the judge nor the law maker, @mboudry. You have no right to decide what is allowable speech, nor do you have any right to slander others by asserting that legal boundaries have been crossed. While in both cases, some will argue that there is a prima facie case of illegality, that case is clearly stronger in the case of Cofnas (see screenshot from the Unia website). But it does not even matter: given the lack of any conviction, there is no formal ground to differentiate between Pettit's and Cofnas' cases. It is purely your own personal judgment and opinion based on which you advocate for canceling Pettit while arguing against the cancelation of Cofnas. You may of course do that by using your own right to freedom of expression, which I fully support. But by doing so, you unequivocally demonstrate that you are not supporting academic freedom and the freedom of expression within the boundaries of the law - you are its worst enemy by advocating for or against it depending on your own views. I support the freedom of expression and the academic freedom of both Cofnas and Pettit, and I support your freedom to expose yourself as the hypocritical bigot that you are.

Why defend the academic freedom of @nathancofnas but not @HarrygPettit? Simple: Harry Pettit has openly glorified terrorist attacks, praised those who orchestrated it, and expressed his wish to "finish" the work of said terrorists (the 7 Oct massacre). If some far-right academic had celebrated the terrorist attack of Anders Breivik, dismissal would also be justified.

Maybe Camilla Turner should declare that mummy and daddy are directors of UK Lawyers for Israel, a pro-Israel lobby group currently under investigation by the Solicitors Regulation Authority? UKLFI’s track record includes demanding the removal of Gaza children’s artwork at Chelsea & Westminster Hospital, trying to cancel the Falastin Film Festival, pressuring Barts Health NHS Trust to ban Palestine badges, lobbying the Open University to remove the phrase “ancient Palestine” from teaching materials, complaining to the British Museum about references to Palestine and “people of Palestinian descent”, threatening the government with legal action over the suspension of 30 arms export licences to Israel, and claiming that Israel’s blockade in Gaza could “reduce obesity” and potentially increase “average life expectancy.” Nothing but a privileged stenographer.

I am delighted that the High Court has ruled in my favour on the key issues in the libel case brought by Raffi Berg. The court rejected the claimant’s interpretation of the article and ruled that it expressed an opinion based on stated material. I stand by my journalism and, if Mr Berg decides to continue the libel claim, I look forward to defending my article in court. I would like to thank my legal team at @RPCLegal, my barrister Aidan Eardley KC, and @DropSiteNews, which published the article and has stood by my journalism throughout.

For every politician and journalist who supported Israel's onslaught, or stayed silent: This photograph should haunt you for the rest of your life. You will never scrub the shame away. No future achievement, however great, will ever erase what you helped inflict on Gaza.
