Hello scientists, I’m going to clarify things, in case some people didn’t fully understand. What I’m about to explain has always been clear and communicated as such. But some people need a reminder. $CL1 is not an official Cortical Labs coin; it has neither been deployed by the company nor affiliated with it. This initiative is community-driven and aims to raise funds, which will then be used to finance developers/scientists who want to use CL1 or Cortical Cloud. That’s the whole principle of a DAO, and a DAO must remain independent. That is our goal. In particular thanks to @mariafreitasPhD, who, with her research and scientific background, will be able to guide us effectively in our funding decisions. We have done everything Hon asked of us, and we continue to improve the execution of his requests: creating a DAO, recruiting a team of scientific advisors. This is only the beginning. Maria will take the necessary steps to recruit other scientists capable of leading this council. There is a misunderstanding regarding this project. Some think it is a scam or a pump and dump. If you look at the progress we’ve made, we have been working hard day after day for nearly a month to build this initiative. We started from nothing, and now we have a PhD scientist with over 40 years of research experience with us, as well as a DAO created in close collaboration with @realmsdaos. Only one action is required from Cortical Labs: to claim the funds (over $60k) generated by the token, and then send them to our DAO wallet. This action does not mean that Cortical Labs will be affiliated with or publicly support the project; however, it will open doors that are currently closed to us. Once these funds are claimed, no further action will be required from Cortical Labs; we will then be able to carry out our project in a decentralized and independent way. Take care :)

Early-stage and exploratory research, the source of our most transformative discoveries, remains systematically underfunded. Scientists frequently face structural limitations in accessing resources, where visibility itself becomes a bottleneck for promising ideas. A community-driven funding mechanism offers a vital complementary pathway. It expands access to capital, supports high-risk/ high-reward experimentation, and accelerates the exploration of unconventional hypotheses that often fall outside traditional grant frameworks. While initiatives like @spark_sciences Fund have been showing that these models work, what is being proposed here, at the intersection of advanced biological systems and programmable funding, has the potential to go much further. That’s why I am stepping in as a Scientific Advisor for the $CL1 DAO. My role will be to rigorously evaluate biotechnology-oriented proposals, ensuring that funded projects meet high scientific standards while remaining ambitious. Additionally, I intend to onboard other experienced scientists to form a specialized advisory group capable of supporting credible research selection. My background includes over four decades at one of Latin America's leading research institutes.
