Standing Up for Democracy Today, I joined fellow Nigerians, leaders, and members of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) led by National Chairman Sen. David Mark to participate in a peaceful "Save Democracy" protest. This event was not just an effort to protect our democracy; it was also a moment of reflection on how far we have fallen as a nation. We must resist the suffocation of our democracy by those who once claimed to have sacrificed to defend it, but are now doing everything possible to undermine it and silence opposition. History will not be kind to those who traded the struggle for democracy for the comfort of power. We will not remain silent, we will not be intimidated, and we will not surrender the future of this nation. The will of the people must prevail—stronger, louder, and impossible to suppress. A New Nigeria is POssible. -PO

BREAKING: Over a dozen Christians were brutally murdered on Palm Sunday in the city of Jos in Nigeria. According to local reports, a group of radical Muslims came in on vehicles and began firing on the Christians before hacking them with machetes.

Yesterday, Monday 30th March, I returned to the North's Commercial nerve centre, Kano, on the invitation of my dear elder brother, Senator, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso @KwankwasoRM, whose decision to join our party marks yet another significant step in the collective effort to rescue and rebuild our democracy and dear nation, Nigeria. As I have consistently maintained, this is the time for all opposition forces and well-meaning Nigerians to set aside their differences and work together in unity of purpose. Nigeria is at a critical stage in its history, one that demands sacrifice, courage, and selflessness from all of us. The challenges we face, economic hardship, insecurity, unemployment, and declining public trust, require more than rhetoric. They require deliberate collaboration, disciplined leadership, and a shared commitment to national progress. We must move beyond the politics of division, ethnicity, religion, and region, and embrace the politics of competence, character, capacity, compassion, and commitment to a better Nigeria. The task before us is not about winning elections alone; it is about rebuilding institutions, restoring confidence in governance, and securing a better future for our children. I therefore call on all members of the opposition, and indeed every patriotic Nigerian, to see this moment as a defining one. A moment that calls for unity over division, service over self, and nation over personal interest. A new Nigeria is POssible, but it will require all of us, working together, making sacrifices, and staying committed to the vision of a just, equitable, and prosperous nation. -PO

HAPPENING NOW: Historic moment in Banjul as Peter Obi is honored with the Official Key to the City of Banjul and conferred with a prestigious chieftaincy title, a rare and symbolic recognition reserved for distinguished global figures whose influence transcends the borders of Africa. By presenting the Key to the City, the authorities of Banjul formally welcomed Peter Obi as a friend of the city and an ambassador of shared African values, acknowledging his consistent advocacy for good governance, economic development, and the empowerment of people across the continent.

Celebrate Him While He Is Still With Us ! Since I was a child, no Nigerian Catholic hymn has stayed with me the way the compositions of Sir Jude Nnam @sirjudennam have. I have always admired the simplicity, sincerity, flair and grace with which he composes his songs. His lyrics come from the depth of his heart with great spiritual meaning that speaks to any and everyone that listens to it. From “Uchechukwu” to “Kanyi Jee n’Ulo Chukwu,” from “Take and Sanctify” to “Father, to You We Offer,” from “Somtoochukwu” to “Sai Kuzo,” from “Chineke Odogwu” to “Agam Eje N’Altar,” from “My Story” to “It’s payback time”, from “In Thanksgiving and Love,” to “Olisa”, “Surrender Your Heart to Jesus”, “Mungode Allah”, “Chinemerem”, “In Love With Jesus”, “Abinci”, “Chinecherem”, “Kosisochukwu”, “Time After Time”, “Ngozi”, “Thy Will be Done”, “Oge Erugo”, “Obi Eze Chukwu” and many many more. These songs have shaped the way many of us experience the Holy Mass. From entrance hymn to dismissal, he helped make our liturgy sound truly African without losing its reverence - each moment of the Holy Mass became more alive because of his music, and do know that his compositions are sung every Sunday in parishes across Nigeria and beyond? Yes ! But behind the music is a man who has faced serious life’s challenges. He survived cancer and still lives with its effects. He survived being kidnapped more than once. He has carried silent burdens while continuing to serve God in His Church. Through all of this, he has remained committed to his vocation and to sacred music. Sir Jude Nnam is 60. Sixty years of life. Decades of service. A lifetime of self-giving. We often say we should appreciate people while they are still here. This is one of those moments and the reason why I am lending my voice to this call. If his music has helped you pray, strengthened your faith, or supported your choir. If you have ever felt lifted by his compositions, this is an opportunity to support him in return. You may assume that someone of his stature “has everything.” But fame in Church music (especially Catholic Church in Africa) is not wealth. Ministry is not luxury. And after the illness and trauma he now faces, your support matters. A GoFundMe link has been created by his team. You may also give directly to his management company’s account. The process is secure, and the support will reach him. Let us stand by him and his family now. Thank you for whatever you are able to give. gofund.me/16574db51 Maestro Managers Limited 1015747403 Zenith Bank Plc. If you are unable to contribute financially at the moment, that is completely fine. Please help by sharing this message. Someone on your timeline may be in a position to give.
