I'm getting tired of the "how will it scale?" argument. Nearly anytime someone asks a question about self-hosting, using container-based solutions, or anything that isn't "serverless," there's at least one person who responds with "How will it scale?" thereby discouraging people from using tried and tested methods that have been used for years. At this point, I'm starting to wonder whether these folks understand how powerful modern hardware is and how little resources most applications need or that the scale they are talking about is far beyond what most will ever need. Seriously, if you're thinking about self-hosting your services or going with anything that isn't "serverless," don't let any such arguments discourage you. Statistically speaking, scaling will never be a problem for you, and if it is, you can always throw more hardware at it (which is very cheap).
