@IanDunt I wonder how much of this is triggered by the physical structure of Number 10, and the jostling for position around the PM.

If we end up with a more press-focused No.10 it'll help with story telling and quieten the noise, but it won't actually help get things done. This leaves a big functional hole where the government's agenda was.

This is what the front page of the Daily Mail website looks like right now. You're going to have to do a little bit of work for the whole story, so please read the rest of the thread...

@ChrisHewitt Can we go back to having a post-theatre window for blu-ray (/4k) disks before it goes to streaming? That might give it a bit more room to breathe in the theatre, I just don’t understand why they are so quick to release on streaming.

@charlesarthur I thought for a minute it was dubbed as there was no echo/background noise, but there is a bit at the end, so I think it’s just a cancelling algorithm.

ELECTORAL DYSFUNCTION: After a torrid couple of wks, that* poll putting Reform within 4 points of Tories & a new daily high this yr for migrant crossings, is Sunak embattled or beleaguered? And why is there now chat about a June election option? news.sky.com/story/can-rish…

@DavidHenigUK Doesn't really seem like a smoking gun though, there's no direct mention of compensation payouts. It reads more like they don't want to close post-offices before the election.

Bad news about GDP today and it looks even worse per capita.

@HelenLOHara Thank you, I know to avoid watching it! I can't take that level of cringe, I'd start eating the sofa just to stop watching.

I just watched the whole Golden Globes opening monologue and sheesh, that was painful. Imagine yelling "THAT WAS HILARIOUS" at that room when your joke dies on its arse.

@stubbornella Thankfully my plate appears from a quick photo search. That is, after I tagged the best photo with "licence"!

@LadyBrainSueMcC @lewis_goodall @dirk1978 @broomhilldons You don't have to be Scottish to be a (Scottish) patriot, by Lewis' definitions you are a patriot. I'm English (with Scottish heritage), and would like to maintain the union, but I understand why Scotland would want independence, and I wouldn't act to prevent it.

Starmer: “I promise this- a politics which treads a little lighter on all our lives. That’s the thing about populism or nationalism…It needs your full attention, needs you constantly focussing on this week’s common enemy. And that’s exhausting.” Really interesting section.

@empiremagazine you were saying (on the pod) that Aquaman wasn't a great end to the DCCU, but could we just ignore that and stick with the Flash? I'm late to seeing it, but it's fun and included a lot of the DC characters.

@kermodeandmayo TS I haven't seen, but is probably the answer. My daughter prefers Ghostbusters 2016 to the original, and trying to be objective, I have a hard time disagreeing. If you can put the original to one side, it's a fun film. 300 does what it intended, shouldn't be on the list.

@alastc Out in March, I believe. Although the recent censorship debacle with The Abyss might mean it’s now up in the air.

@jamescdyer on the pod you mentioned a Cameron 4k boxset I March (I think). Is that definitely a thing? I can't find anything about a boxset yet, but I would wait if there was going to be one!

@HelenLOHara I'm so glad the second part is coming out soon, I was worried it would just disappear. And I loved this line: "whose brow furrows desperately every time he’s faced with a problem he can’t immediately stab" 😂🙏
