Universal HIGH INCOME via checks issued by the Federal government is the best way to deal with unemployment caused by AI. AI/robotics will produce goods & services far in excess of the increase in the money supply, so there will not be inflation.

Meditation clears your context window Doing anything ambitious is very difficult when you are carrying around 200,000 junk tokens unrelated to the task Sleep does the same thing. This is why people find mornings so productive.

"This is a pivotal time for cybersecurity. We expect that a significant share of the world’s code will be scanned by AI in the near future, given how effective models have become at finding long-hidden bugs and security issues. Attackers will use AI to find exploitable weaknesses faster than ever. But defenders who move quickly can find those same weaknesses, patch them, and reduce the risk of an attack. Claude Code Security is one step towards our goal of more secure codebases and a higher security baseline across the industry."

@gvanrossum Flight code for the rockets and Starlink satellites is written in C and C++. Python is used where runtime performance is less important than rapid iteration and ease of use.

@milesdeutscher Workers with AI skills earn 56% more than the same job without them. That premium doubled in a single year. - is this true? or is it a statement that you made up? - just asking

In 10 years, there will be two classes of people. Economists call it the "K-shaped economy" - and the next 2-3 years will decide which line you're on. • An overclass that uses AI as a lever to build wealth, automate income, and make decisions at a speed no human can compete with alone. • And an underclass that gets managed by it. This isn't just "coming". It's already happening. Some mind-blowing stats: • Workers with AI skills earn 56% more than the same job without them. That premium doubled in a single year. • Industries adopting AI are seeing 3x the revenue growth per employee. • Meanwhile, 90% of workers haven't taken a single hour of AI training. • Goldman Sachs estimates 300 million jobs will be affected by AI by 2028. That's 24 months from now. If you're reading this now and you haven't built systems with AI - haven't automated a single workflow, haven't used it to create anything that makes you money or makes you irreplaceable - you are currently on the wrong line. That's not an insult. You have the agency to change your trajectory right now. But six months from now, the gap will be twice as wide. And a year from now, it may not be crossable.

You're in a Research Scientist interview at Google. Interviewer: We have a base LLM that's terrible at maths. How would you turn it into a maths & reasoning powerhouse? You: I'll get some problems labeled and fine-tune the model. Interview over. Here's what you missed:

It is dangerously easy to build a neural network today without actually understanding how it works. We live in an era of 'import torch'. You can train a model in three lines of code, but the moment you need to debug a collapsing loss function or a vanishing gradient, syntax won't save you. You need first principles. I recently went through this notebook collection by Simon J.D. Prince, and it is the antidote to tutorial hell. Instead of just showing you the code, it forces you to visualize the mechanics: 1./ The Math => It builds the intuition for shallow networks and regions before adding complexity. 2./ The Optimization => It doesn't just use an optimizer; it compares Line Search, SGD, and Adam so you see why they behave differently. 3./ The Modern Stack => It connects the dots from basic backpropagation all the way to Self-Attention and Graph Neural Networks. Move from running code to engineering systems => this is a goldmine.

There are easily 20+ AI SOC companies in the market, giving the landscape a commoditized feel. I wonder how long it would take to fine-tune Gemma 3 to do it. developers.googleblog.com/en/introducing… I imagine that people and companies have already done it internally.
