Fantastic and LEGALLY valid points made by @AujaswiMaken on this discussion. GoI’s stance is not tenable. For 75 years this was not a security threat and suddenly it is ? Especially when there is talk of the PM moving out of the next door premises. The reality is that with rising prices and inflation, this is a a diversionary method to show we are pro-poor and anti-elite. Nothing more. Hoping for the courts to deliver justice tomorrow.

What about the staff? 500-600 staff, where will they go? They will be on the roads... It's a heritage building. It's got grass courts, which you will barely find in Delhi, and we've held international tournaments here. It is a sports club and is used by veterans and retired people. So it would be very unfair to them that overnight you take away their place from them..."

Here's the problem: if we do this, this $11 bathmat will be purchased from some crony for $25 each, only after commissioning a "study" to determine which bathmat, which will cost $10 per mat. Then we will hire some fraudulent "nonprofit" to distribute them, for about $20 per mat. Then there will be follow up visits at $50 each to go check on how the bathmats are doing. Meanwhile, we could just say "find a bathmat and you can get $11 reimbursed" -- but if we did that, there would be 1000 "Bathmat centers" in Portland Maine.

Our raw material vendors increase prices with immediate effect. Our customers tell us price revision will happen in October. The customer doesn’t even pay on time and has the audacity to demand material without clearing previous dues. Both our RM vendor and customer and far bigger than we are. Both of them do thousands of crores in revenue with billion dollar valuations. How do they expect the small guy in the value chain to absorb the shock? You don’t grow the manufacturing ecosystem with such ethics.

A GPT-4 query costs about 2-3 watt-hours. A billion queries is 3 million kilowatt-hours. That's a small Indian city's daily demand, every day, for predictions. Cloud pricing hasn't adjusted for this yet because the cost is buried in infrastructure. But once AI scales past the venture ceiling, thermodynamics becomes your constraint, not compute. You can't make margin out of a physics problem. And you can't solve it by asking the grid to get cheaper.
