@jester3334 @NashSevereWx yep those are perfectly reliable and you can get them from kroger even! plug it in when you have power and keep batteries on hand for power outages.

Ideally, you have your phone's "do not disturb" off so you can get phone alerts, you have your app set, and your NOAA wx radio programmed and ready to go.

@BlueDrumslw @NashSevereWx low end risk. there’s no way to pre-rate a tornado on the ef scale. tornados are always rated after damage is assessed, which is usually a day later.

Latest (1z) HRRR model run stalls the front right over us, delivering a low-end tornado, hail, and straight line wind risk around 2-3 AM. From there, we transition into a flooding threat through Thursday morning. Rainfall may be significant in spots. We have coffee. / 947 PM

Now Jackson TN is tornado warned, the second TN supercell tornado warning so far. These are classic tornadic supercell structures. Our area of focus is on the storms entering Middle TN from NE Miss. ETA Ranges 600-730 PM if they make it and defeat the cap / 356 PM

@potencypodcast @NashSevereWx I'm not a pro but I know that generally the sun being out fuels instability. it warms the ground up which warms the air above it. but I don't know if this will affect the cap today in our situation.
