@arhooptalk Not a bigger Knicks fan EVER than my pops.
The best moment came at one of those Knicks Clinics they used to have. Red Holzman came over and hugged my dad. 7 year old me almost died.
Now, that did come with a lot of nights he was at the Garden instead of helping me with math.
English

@CrazyVibes_1 You didn’t respect them to be home during the delivery, so any point you make is moot.
English

So I come home and see all my groceries just dumped outside like this. Bags thrown on the concrete, drinks on the ground, everything just sitting there like trash. Zero care. What makes it worse is that I messaged them to wait because I was literally near the house, minutes away. And still, no call, no text, no waiting. Just a quick doorbell tap and they vanished. Cool, thanks for the heads-up that my food is outside slowly becoming a neighborhood donation. I'm not asking for five-star service, but this is straight-up lazy and disrespectful. If you're going to drop stuff off, at least don't treat it like you're tossing junk on a sidewalk. This genuinely pissed me off because it's such an easy thing to do right, and somehow they still didn't.

@RyanceyReturns @cherokeeowl That thinking is why customer service is going away….people always want more than they paid for.
English

If I paid for two kings, I’m not accepting less just because it’s inconvenient for them. Hotels love “sold out” when they mess up inventory. That’s not my problem.
They have a lot of flexibility. I'd leverage it into two rooms. The key is to never settle......
And oh yah, never be afraid to switch a room. Some are better than others, and the worst go to the ones that settle
English

You roll into the hotel with your wife and two kids, tired from the drive, already picturing everyone stretching out in the two king beds you know you booked and paid for.
Then the front desk says, “We’re sold out. All we have is a king and a pull-out sofa.”
Not what you reserved. Not what you paid for. And definitely not what you planned for.
Do you argue? Demand a manager? Ask for a refund and start searching for another hotel at 10 p.m.? Or do you make the best of it for the night and deal with it in the morning?
What would you do in this situation?
This may or may not be an actual event; it may or may not contain AI

@JustMe676440823 @_JohnBright @NSTRIKE1231 It’s much more weird that you think a 50 year old pic of the US evacuating civilians is a gotcha moment..
English

@_JohnBright @NSTRIKE1231 Don’t you find it weird that the only international pics of the US military are of helicopters fleeing Saigon and Taliban driving Humvees?!

‼️‼️🇨🇦🇺🇸 #BREAKING - According to The Globe and Mail, the Canadian Armed Forces have modelled a hypothetical U.S. military invasion of Canada and the country’s potential response, two senior government officials said. The scenario includes tactics similar to those used against Russia and later against U.S.-led forces in Afghanistan.
Military planners are modelling a U.S. invasion from the south, anticipating that American forces could overrun Canada’s strategic positions on land and at sea within a week—and possibly in as little as two days.
Officials noted that Canada lacks both the manpower and the advanced equipment required to repel a conventional American assault. As a result, planners are considering an unconventional warfare approach, in which small groups of irregular forces or armed civilians would employ ambushes, sabotage, drone warfare, and hit-and-run tactics.
The objective of such tactics would be to inflict significant casualties on U.S. occupying forces, one official said.
Such a rupture in the joint defence relationship would likely prompt Canada to seek support and protection from France or the United Kingdom—both nuclear-armed states—in response to U.S. aggression.

@realDailyTrite @NXT4EU In 1814 a British naval task force sailed up the potomac river, docked at Cheasapeake bay and then defeated the American army at the battle of bladensburg (your soldier ran away! The Brits then onto Washington DC and burned down the whitehouse, and other government buildings. 🇬🇧
English

The British are experienced in liberating an Island from invaders.
Seems like they wouldn't mind doing the same again for Greenland
NXT EU@NXT4EU
The UK is preparing with European Allies to send troops to Greenland. The plan will involve soldiers, warships and planes being deployed to protect Greenland. 🇬🇱
English

If my memory serves me right, you also had more helicopters than Viet Cong.

Vince Langman@LangmanVince
How does Denmark's military compare to America's? This is hilarious 😂 We could take control of Greenland in about 20 minutes.

Jazz supergroup The Cookers has canceled its New Year’s Eve performance at the Kennedy Center, with saxophonist Billy Harper citing Trump as the reason:
"I would never even consider performing in a venue bearing a name... that represents overt racism and deliberate destruction of African American music and culture."

@brucey00 @MajorsZeroFour @philthatremains @aleksbrz11 Wouldn’t be any guerrilla warfare, China couldn’t deliver enough troops onto the mainland US. Any attempt would be beyond catastrophic for China.
English

@MajorsZeroFour @philthatremains @aleksbrz11 How can militias fight against bombing runs, mortars, and even m60 and better type automatic weapons. Yes, we could do guerilla style attacks but that's it. The losses would be immeasurable, look at Iraq or Gaza, so keep dreaming.

@hummingbirder @EricLDaugh But they weren’t promised by the federal government…

@EricLDaugh Reparations were promised after the Civil War, but never paid. And they haven't forgot.

Absolutely incredible and eye-opening moment.
MAN: If you're that scared of black people, don't come around black people.
STEVEN CROWDER: They're not scared. They're tired of it.
MAN: Well...stay away from us.
CROWDER: Great. Then don't ask them to pay for it [reparations].
MAN: NO! Because, once again-
CROWDER: OH! So you want them to stay away but FOOT the bill! 'Stay away from us, but pay for us.' Do you realize that guy's gonna HATE YOU?
Truly fascinating. Stay away, but pay up.
Who taught these men to think this way? They aren't bad people (I'm assuming). There is a serious flaw in this logic.

as a brand spanking new E-nothing in '91, I remember reporting to my company CO at Warrior Base(Tent City) just outside the DMZ Korea.
CO- Private, what are the PT standards?
me- Sir! 70% of...
CO- Wrong Answer! The MINIMUM STANDARD is 100%. Are you going to fight the enemy with 70% effort?
me- NO SIR!
CO- now give me a loud HOO-AH
me- HOO-AH

The Final Word on SECWAR’s Speech
He laid down everything in simple terms. No buzzword bingo. No Ivy League wordsmithing. It was a speech styled in the finest traditions of someone raised professionally at Fort Benning, GA, the home of the Infantry. I recognized it immediately.
He empowered the most senior leaders of the military, giving them the tools to lead without the burdens that have shackled us for a generation.
He even gave them a respectful out. Offering resignation in lieu of continuing in disagreement. Time will tell if they know what to do with such freedom of action.
For everyone crying that he was going to fire them, start martial law, or have them pledge a loyalty oath, what now? You have no idea what to say, do you?
He gave a profound wakeup call. Explaining the standard in a way only an Infantryman can: task, conditions, and standards shrouded in fire and ice. Leaving zero room for doubt on expectations.
So I ask the critics: what now? Because from my foxhole, the only people I see upset are advocates of DEI. Those who “Didn’t Earn It.”
Are you mad a former Major is SECWAR? Then you’ve confused pedigree with purpose.
For the rest of you out there:
The age of entitlements is over. The age of earned excellence is now upon us.
Now get on board, or do us all a favor and get the hell out of the way.
