Tech slop rant. If I worked at Google, I'd be embarrassed by how siloed and disconnected Gemini is from G Suite. Like I'd be ashamed to tell people I'm the person who works on the Gemini<>G Suite team. I have repeatedly tried to use Gemini to calendar events and invite other people. While Gemini has made advances and now will properly calendar the events, it simply will not invite the requested people. It will lie to you and tell you it has! But it will not do it. This basically makes the function worthless. When I put something on my calendar, it's because I need to share that event with someone else! If I'm bulk adding events, I don't want to have to then go into each event and add my attendees. I just want it done.

Imagine every pixel on your screen, streamed live directly from a model. No HTML, no layout engine, no code. Just exactly what you want to see. @eddiejiao_obj, @drewocarr and I built a prototype to see how this could actually work, and set out to make it real. We're calling it Flipbook. (1/5)

GDPVal was updated. LLMs improved significantly on accounting tasks since September 2025. Win rate for Accountants and Auditors *increased 18 percentage points* in 7 months, while Lawyers declined 10 points. The rate of progress is real. -10 pts = Lawyers

Nearly 4 years ago, @marcbaghadjian and I had the crazy idea to build a credit card company. I was 19. Not the Odyssey, nor the Iliad, but our own small epic that we wrote day by day. We knew the odds and we embarked anyway. Fueled only by hope, we made immense sacrifices with no certain return. The idea changes and you change. Behind every photo of two founders, there is an army of people that came together. None of this could be possible without our incredible team, investors, and partners. Today is the end of a chapter in our epic, and the start of a new one.

THE ACCOUNTING VC -- Accounting advisory services only earn premium pricing if they feel handmade. Picture a client choosing between two accounting firms. Both pitch an "advisory" package at $X,XXX per month. The client asks, "Show me what I'll get." Both firms send a sample report. Same aesthetic. Same copy. Same charts. Same green/yellow/red traffic lights. Maybe even co-branded with the same tech vendor logo in the bottom-right. That's not handmade. That's not "built for me." If you're rolling up or building an accounting firm, here's how I think about build vs. license: High billable hour work: own the know-how and outputs. This is where differentiation lives. Low billable hour work: license or partner with tech as much as possible. Everything in the middle: license or build internal automations that make the work product better, faster, and more consistent. So should you build your own General Ledger? No. Should you build your own payroll vendor? No. Should you build your own agentic tax preparer? Still no. Should you build your own advisory solution? Yes. But use technology to help you build something that still feels handmade. Analogy: AlphaSense ($500M+ ARR) sells an AI financial search engine to hedge funds. Does it tell them what to do? No. It gives them leverage to make high-value decisions and generate alpha. If AlphaSense tried to sell alpha itself, it would get arbitraged away as more customers used it. Would love to hear from a few lawyers about how they use Legora or Harvey. Are they used mostly by litigation teams? What are the killer use cases?
