Is the Left really, 100%, sure, they want to open the question “why should the state look after those who don’t pay enough tax to cover their services”?

Work hard at school, get good grades, go to uni, work your arse off, get a degree, get a corporate job on fairly good money. All so we can take as much of it off you and give it to the dossers who can’t be arsed to do the same.
Fuck. Off.

Susanna Reid: "We've suddenly found all of this money to defend [Ukraine], where was that money when the govt came into power saying there's a £22bn blackhole & we need to take money away from pensioners to fill it"
Money for war but not for cold pensioners or hungry kids #GMB

I'm not remotely an expert on this war, but it has always seemed to me that it should go one of two ways. Either go ALL-IN and supply Ukraine with enough weapons and support to defeat Russia, or negotiate a peace deal to end the bloodshed.
The former is extremely dangerous, as Russia is a nuclear power and this could provoke a much more massive and devastating conflict. So, understandably, we are trying to take the latter route.
But what we've been doing—giving Ukraine just enough support to prolong the conflict indefinitely without being able to ever win—has been the worst possible course of action. It's an endless money hole that keep young men on both sides perpetually marching into the meat grinder. How in the world can anyone support this or think it's somehow the most virtuous position?
