CPUs. GPUs. And now—QPUs. Quantum computing isn’t replacing today’s technology —it’s expanding what’s possible. BlackRock’s Tony Kim explains how quantum works, what makes it different, and why it could define the next era of computing.

Cryoplant Facility -> UK's National Cryoplant Facility. Welcome to PsiLab in the Northern UK where bleeding edge photonics testing occurs and prototype test systems are scaling up.
PsiQuantum@PsiQuantum

The United Kingdom has long been ahead of the curve in recognizing the world-changing potential of quantum computing, and public-sector support has a vital role to play in the UK's continued leadership in quantum. PsiQuantum's deep UK roots include four co-founders with extensive academic experience at the University of Bristol and Imperial College—as well as our pioneering R&D facility at the @STFC_Matters campus in Daresbury. This week, @HMTreasury announced a historic new investment to establish the National Cryogenic Facility at STFC Daresbury, which will enable PsiQuantum to accelerate and scale our advanced testing in Daresbury as we continue toward building the world's first utility-scale quantum computers. Learn more about what makes the UK so important for our mission:

Taylor Frankie Paul has responded to a leaked video from 2023 that appears to show her throwing metal stools at her ex, Dakota Mortensen, while her child is nearby. A spokesperson for Paul said: “It’s sad to see the latest installment of his never-ending, desperate, attention-seeking, destructive campaign to harm Taylor without any regard for the consequences for their child. Releasing an old video, which conveniently omits context, on their son’s birthday is a reprehensible attempt to distract from his own behavior. Thankfully, the public has seen this act before and knows who he is and sadly, many will recognize this pattern of manipulation, both in his actions on the show, and from their own experiences.” variety.com/2026/tv/news/t…

Today, Jacob Becraft, Ph.D., co-founder and CEO of @StrandTx and BIO board member, testified before the House Select Committee on China, underscoring that leadership in biotechnology is a strategic imperative for the U.S. Jacob detailed how China’s speed and scale - from more efficient clinical trial activation to coordinated investment and manufacturing - are accelerating a competitive advantage that risks drawing innovation, capital, and capabilities overseas. At the same time, U.S. innovators, especially those small and mid-sized companies, face persistent headwinds - from regulatory uncertainty to fragmented infrastructure - that can slow progress and increase costs at home. Been at ESPN a long time - this one was an all timer. Before social media, it was as viral as a story can be. I watched it on a tape in the news room. I couldn’t stop watching his teammates.

19 years ago, a high school basketball coach put his team manager into a game for the final four minutes. The kid had never played a single minute of competitive basketball in his life. He scored 20 points. Jason McElwain was diagnosed with severe autism at age two. He didn’t speak until he was five. He couldn’t chew solid food until he was six. He wore a nappy for most of his early childhood. As a baby, he was rigid, wouldn’t make eye contact, and hid in corners away from other children. He tried out for his school basketball team every year and got cut every time. Too small. Too slight. Barely 5’6 and about 54 kilograms. But he loved the game so much that his mum called the school and asked if there was any way he could be involved. The coach created a team manager role for him. For three years, McElwain showed up to every practice and every game. He wore a shirt and tie on match days. He ran drills, handed out water, kept stats, and cheered every basket like he’d scored it himself. On 15 February 2006, the last home game of his final school year, the coach let him suit up in a proper jersey and sit on the bench. With four minutes left and a comfortable lead, the coach sent him in. His first shot missed. His second missed. Then something shifted. He hit a three-pointer. Then another. Then another. His teammates stopped shooting entirely and just kept passing him the ball. He hit six three-pointers and a two-pointer. 20 points in four minutes. The highest scorer in the game. When the final buzzer went, the entire crowd rushed the court and lifted him onto their shoulders. His mum tapped the coach on the shoulder, in tears. “This is the nicest gift you could have ever given my son.” McElwain won the ESPY Award for Best Moment in Sports that year, beating out some of the biggest names in professional sport. He’s 36 now. He works at a local supermarket, coaches basketball, has run 17 marathons including five Boston Marathons, and travels the country speaking about never giving up. When asked about that night, his coach still gets emotional. “For him to come in and seize the moment like he did was certainly more than I ever expected. I was an emotional wreck.”
