DF1 is the name of our autonomy stack, it enables drones to do state estimation, advanced control systems, navigation planners, and perception. Nimbus is the name of our hardware module that actually enables the communication with the drone We’ve updated the website to make this clearer, check it out!! lmk what you think :) thedroneforge.com

“To get into robotics, you no longer need a Ph.D.” - Spencer Huang Great read from @IEEESpectrum on how open‑source AI, NVIDIA’s robotics stack, and @HuggingFace’s LeRobot are opening the field to a much wider community. 📖 nvda.ws/4dZs6aN

@iuliaferoli for shore! there's levels. and they're all more tedious and difficult than the sped-up demos make it look. but so much more approachable and accessible than its ever been.

@alexpdiggs There’s definitely a range of budget and capabilities. I stuck with microcontroller and processors the first 6 months. All good until you wanna run LLMs or VLAs or multi-camera computer vision live on your robot! Then we feel like we’ve *earned* the GPU use case 😅

Do you actually need expensive hardware to get into robotics? Short answer: depends what you want to build $10 pico running a servo arm ~~technically~~ qualifies as a robot $40-300 arduino / raspberry pi + AI hat takes you surprisingly far $300+ jetson is when things get serious $4000 boards?? we don't need to talk about those yet The GPU moment is very specific: when your robot needs to "understand" rather than just "react", getting into live computer vision, multiple sensors and cameras, and local LLMs. youtu.be/YPxWr7KPEHc This will set a great foundation for what hardware you want/need to use for the rest of our Road to Physical AI Series. #robotics #physicalAI @NVIDIARobotics @seeedstudio

@rshabhsinha agree that they’ll continue to get more popular. but i also think that industry has overestimated how many people want to be involved with their own production operation

I don’t know if Agriculture is going to change someday where we can basically farm autonomously / robotically in regenerative fashion. Adding layers of crops / forage / livestock grazing But I have a lot of fun in old equipment imagining what would be possible by doing it with what we’ve got to work with now. Cultipacking a 12 way cc mix with Sunflowers, cowpeas, oats, millets, sorghum, sun hemp, and mung beans into wheat and clover. We don’t want to kill it…I’m trying something here that I thought would work. That’s living. Being not sure but confident it may work and just FAFO
