This was a near perfect work week for me. It began with publisher friends in London. Continued with web standards friends in Paris. Ended with ad industry friends in Paris. Many insights and laughs were had. LFG

@joe_zappa Completely agree. I also think the only people who understand the term “open web” are adtech nerds.

Many adtech folks fall into the trap of romanticizing the open web. This is a recipe for a weak story. It often hinges on an uncritical conception of premium content as synonymous with the open web. But if younger consumers like MrBeast more than Hollywood, premium has shifted.

@BradAT @amitshetty There are 10s (probably 100s) of posts on LI mentioning impacted employees. Sometimes X and personalized feeds can make it feel like something isn't happening that actually is (and vice versa).

Re the Xandr news - is it me or is there a bit of callousness about the employees being impacted? (Not by everyone of course, but a surprising number)
