Possibly one of my last tweets I'll ask for advice from #NurseTwitter. I'm being selected to work on a hiring board for future employees and I've been asked to come up with 3 unique questions to ask during an interview process. Whats your best questions for a potential new hire?

@jtrebach I remember when I brought up at a hospital wide meeting that we’d had 28 assaults against staff in the ER in the last month as a problem I cared about and I got labeled as “negative” and “you should have used the word opportunity rather than problem”

i will never forget the first time someone swung at me in the ER when i was taking care of them i recall the nurses checking on me afterwards to see if I was ok and to share their own experiences i was horrified to learn they had ALL experienced something similar (or worse)

welp, another day i didn’t use Ineffective breathing patterns related to pulmonary hypoplasia as evidenced by intermittent subcostal and intercostal retractions, tachypnea, abdominal breathing, and the need for ongoing oxygen support.

#ICUchecklist is to make sure the plane doesn’t crash, not to assure the stewardesses don’t run out of Diet Coke on the way to Los Angeles. If the checklist gets too long, it becomes pro forma, and is rattled off without attention. The picture shows a cumbersome #checklist

Why yes. Let’s spend millions to “slightly” change our system name and all the signs and marketing instead of just paying nurses more, hiring staff and improving conditions…..BUT WE GOT A NEW SIGN

@AnneRN2020 I have that job. 4 on 12 off. ~$50/hour. But I don't think they're starting new people at that rate. Still, you can dm me if you think you might be interested.

I wish I could go be a flight nurse but still make travel nurse money and be able to take time off. (To be clear, the money is mostly for trying to catch up on retirement investing, not living some crazy lifestyle)
