Mathematics. All those beautiful square roots, but 7 is overlooked. Which "God" decided this would be the best way to set up the universe? Art adapted from Daniel Mentrard, @dment37

Step back in time with the sounds of the IBM 1401. This is what computing sounded like before screens, apps, and notifications. Every click, whirr, and punch card is part of a system that helped shape the digital world we live in today. #ComputingHistory #TechHistory #IBM

@StartsWithABang (2/2)Lasers, and CMB are much more correct. For implied intrinsic properties, one of the worst-known examples in astronomy of such a phenomenon is Type Ia supernovae. Dark Energy does not and has never existed. Gravity and Mass have no influence on the expansion of the Universe.

Ask Ethan: How can ultra-distant galaxies move so fast? If you translate redshift into a special relativity velocity, you'll find the most distant galaxy, MoM-z14, speeds away from us at 99.2% the speed of light. How is that possible? bigthink.com/starts-with-a-…

@StartsWithABang (1/2)The universe is not governed by general relativity. Only mass/matter is governed by general relativity. MoM-z14 is not moving at all with respect to Earth. Its light started out when the Universe was 950 million years old. Standard candles, for the middle ages.

Nikola Tesla on the importance of Solitude "The mind is sharper and keener in seclusion and uninterrupted solitude. No big laboratory is needed in which to think. Originality thrives in seclusion free of outside influences beating upon us to cripple the creative mind. Be alone, that is the secret of invention; be alone, that is when ideas are born."
