I'm finally back at developing further spaceAliens video game. After a long 20+ days of refactoring last year mess... Uff! It was worth it, game is ready for progress - it's a lot more scalable now. And the first thing I wanted to add is..... RagDolls! Added this effect. Now when player dies from explosion, it gets dismembered. and body is replaced by a ragdoll that gets pushed away Needs some polishing like extra blood coming out of parts dismembered, and sending parts flying away (or just the head...) What do you think? P.S. This was made with 0 c# via Shader Graph & built-in tool uVS (Unity Visual Scripting). I've been making this game on my own with no external assets because it's fun (and I can 👽) #madeWithUnity #visualScripting #neuroDivergent #visualThinking #gameDev #indieDev

@UnityCodeMonkey And for whatever logic flow you need - you can always ask AI like Gemini to solve Maths for you Then you just go ahead and apply it. Just like using a calculator. But in this case it converts math into logic flow.

"I suck at math, can I learn programming?" This is a comment I see every once in a while, and the answer is ABSOLUTELY! Math isn't really all that important for programming, (unless you're doing graphics programming from scratch where you do need hardcore matrix math) I'm not very good at math myself. Programming is all about LOGIC which is quite different. You need to think like "ok so here I need to store this data in a collection ,then cycle through all elements in the collection and do something to each element", there's no math involved anywhere in that common task. The most math you need in programming, and specifically game development, is really just basic trigonometry. For example calculating a direction vector is: targetPosition - currentPosition; or moving an object currentPosition += moveVector * Time.deltaTime; So if you suck at math then don't worry! Yes you can still learn programming and make awesome games! Best of luck!

@DeeeLulu_Dev So what occured to this? I wouldnt go c# - I tried & it doesnt match my brain behavior Im staying with uVS because it works the way my thinking works. And its fun to use. And so far, it's performant and does what I want my game to do - while allowing me to organize it as i want

@CoSeph2 I cannot flow with c#, it adds a translation tax to my interpretation. I can't speak for others but my brain works better by connecting graph nodes than writing code to turn ideas into logic. So uVS all the way in my gameDev experience.

One of the things I didn't know - is that there are things beyond good FPS... So before in my old Alienware 17 R3 - I struggled between 50 ~ 120 fps in this game I'm solo developing. I started it March 2025 & quit by september. I had no idea what I was doing with my life... Then it hit me. I want to develop games. Publish them. Design them. Gather players + their feedback. 👥 So a few weeks ago - I decided to go all in this year. ...and I thought I had to refactor the hell out of it to improve FPS... And I did, a lot of things moved into Managers. Now almost nothing has game logic... mostly data & visual holders - Except players (enemies included). I didn't know about DOTS - but apparently this approach is very data-oriented friendly. It's like this logic comes natural for me. Lots of object pooling everywhere. 0 Instantiation or destruction during runtime. and then... when I changed my laptop to my new Workstation laptop Alienware 18 Area51 - I see fps as high as 200 ~ 400 everytime. New bugs show up lol I read somewhere a game should be tested with fixed FPS 20 ~ 40 ~ 60 just to see how it looks like in all those levels Since I use uVS 100% (Unity Visual Scripting) - I thought this was the reason for sluggishness. That's what common opinion online said. It was old specs + dirty code principles. A noob in a keyboard. And no, I won't use c#. Because im smart in visuospatial, not linguistic. Aspie neurodivergent here. Syntax & word firewalls are not my thing. People has told me it's not possible to make complex games with uVS alone. That I'm crazy, wasting my time and that I should learn c#. Good for you if it works for YOU. It didn't work with me. I tried and failed. But since I discovered a visual node way to turn ideas into game logic, I've managed to create this game on my own. Including UI, Players, Special Effects, Level, Textures, Behaviors, etc My game has: • Inventory System • Level Up System (Stats like Ragnarok Online) • Magic Casting (Inspired by RO) • Cooldowns • Drop Magic Item (Like Diablo 2) • Guns, Ammo And Randomized Stats • Hp, Mp, Shield System • Score (Kills, Deaths, Points) • Aim with Cursor (Mouse or Controller) • Melee sword with Skills (spinAttack, Dash , Reflect Bullets) ...and much more. All this was done in my first 6 months, and I struggled during 2 months trying to do anything lol All I've done these last weeks - refactor what has been already done. So I'm wondering... If I'm able to progress this much, in so little time by myself... with no prior experience... How am I going to be in a few years ahead - and with a team of aliens like me - developing games with psychology-based design to give humans time of disconnection from reality into virtuality? Oh yes, Im licensed in psychology who prefers to develop games. Guess the key point in this post is... You may listen to others. But don't follow their sayings. It's their own path. Find your way. Before - Whenever I started a project, I kept adding stuff without order. As soon as they appeared in my mind - I'll go ahead and add it. So it was easy to get distracted by the next big thing... I had a notepad with things I wanted to add and bugs to fix when they showed up. Now, I figured since I'm visual minded - I needed colors and tags to have a path to follow. But without many options like most tools out there. So I decided to create this using my Google Workspace Account, an Hybrid of Google Sheets & AppScript. This one magic boosted progress to my goals - changeing my productivity flow. To be organized is to achieve discipline. Now I always know what's my next task. Does what I need. No fancy stuff I don't need so less distractions = more action. It saves data in tables, and displays visually this: • Future idea? • To Add? • Polishing? • Implemented? Using a Priority tag to put them on top, and a progress bar showing me how close I am on finishing my tasks. Implemented displays Done datestamp. it's meant to boost my confidence - to see how much I've done over time. I can quickly drag elements to other columns, edit or delete, undo or redo. This displays instantly in the UI while sending queue to google servers to update the table in the background. And since I own this thing - It costs me $0 I can continue to develop it if I ever need a new feature or edit a current behavior. And I'm not the best productivity being, In fact I easily get distracted. My brain runs like sparks. It may be a ND thing (NeuroDivergent or Alien 👽 thing) So after doing this - I was able to finish things in 1 day that before took me weeks This occurs when clarity had clouds... and now, this dispels the shadows so i see a clear path to travel my gameDev journey #MadeWithUnity #UnityVisualScripting #Neurodivergent #ActuallyAutistic #gamedev #indiedev #VisualThinking

Before i used "get item" node, dictionary object variable from player's current weapon variable and assign a string for Key input to get value for each weapon stat required.... it was a mess... Simpler graphs. Possible with 100% uVS 👽

Created a "Class" inside #unityVisualScripting Before each weapon prefab had a long AOT Dictionary. Hard to maintain and once in-game, every weapon was unique Now 1 simple itemID So when player equips, it access a class subgraph to set all stats as Graph variable - the fastest

すみません、variablesの中に設定した、玉というゲームオブジェクトにこのスクリプトを設定したオブジェクトが触れたさいにadd forceで力を加えたいのですが、エラーが出てしまいうまくできません。おそらくadd forceに繋げてるget variableが間違えてるのだと思いますが教えて欲しいです…。
