A massive local void would explain everything. Space stretches faster inside the bubble than outside it, throwing off our measurements like a funhouse mirror warping reality. According to one team, the void model is around one hundred million times more likely than the standard picture of a smooth, uniform universe. That's not a small claim. Today’s Supreme Court decision effectively guts a key pillar of the Voting Rights Act, freeing state legislatures to gerrymander legislative districts to systematically dilute and weaken the voting power of racial minorities - so long as they do it under the guise of “partisanship” rather than explicit “racial bias.” And it serves as just one more example of how a majority of the current Court seems intent on abandoning its vital role in ensuring equal participation in our democracy and protecting the rights of minority groups against majority overreach. The good news is that such setbacks can be overcome. But that will only happen if citizens across the country who cherish our democratic ideals continue to mobilize and vote in record numbers - not just in the upcoming midterms or in high profile races, but in every election and every level.

Orcas have brain structures you don't have. Neurobiologist Lori Marino's MRI work on killer whales identified a fourth cortical segment called the paralimbic lobe. Other researchers point to orca culture, the traditions passed through pods across generations, in which humans simply aren't food. That look is recognition and restraint. From a mind built for social cognition at a scale your brain can't reach.

We were created for a clear purpose: to worship Allah and to be tested in this life. Allah says in the Quran: “And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.” (Surah Adh-Dhariyat 51:56) And He also says: “[He] who created death and life to test you [as to] which of you is best in deed.” (Surah Al-Mulk 67:2) This life is a temporary test. Our real goal is to worship Allah alone, do good deeds, and strive to earn His pleasure and the eternal reward of Paradise. That is the true meaning and purpose of our existence.

@dawn_kimmy_nl With a board cut down from a building supply store, you can hang it from the ceiling suspended with chain. It'll be up out of the way completely. Just the two cables from it to deal with from there. As an alternate solution maybe. No bumping/moving to readjust it when like that.
