Today is World Suicide Prevention Day and we're spreading the message that it's ok to talk about suicide, in fact asking directly can help save a life. 💜 For advice on talking about suicide check out our website: bit.ly/4ge4qif #WorldSuicidePreventionDay

Got called ‘selfish’ for my suicide attempt… but truth is, when I was feeling that low, I thought I was being truly selfless. I believed I was a burden, and I’d be ‘freeing’ my loved ones. Suicidal people deserve compassion and support - not to be made to feel guilty 💚

Today is #SelfHarmAwarenessDay. We know lots of people find it difficult to know the right thing to say if someone they care about is self-harming, so we’ve teamed up with our friend @DrAmirKhanGP to share tips on how to have these important conversations. 👇

Suicide does not discriminate. It does not care about your age, race, gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, or mental health history. It can affect anyone, at any time, in any place. That's why suicide prevention is everyone's business. We have a responsibility to look out for our friends, family, colleagues, and even strangers who may be struggling with thoughts of suicide. It is not enough to assume that someone is "fine" or that they will just "get over it." We must actively listen, support, and connect them with resources that can help. One of the most important things we can do is to break down the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide. We need to create open and safe spaces for people to talk about their struggles without fear of judgment or shame. By normalising conversations about mental health and suicide, we can help people feel more comfortable seeking help. It is also crucial to educate ourselves on the warning signs of suicide and know how to intervene if we suspect someone is at risk. Simple acts of kindness and compassion can make a world of difference to someone who is struggling. Suicide prevention is not just the responsibility of mental health professionals or suicide hotlines. It is a collective effort that requires all of us to be vigilant and proactive in supporting those around us. So let's come together to break the silence, de stigmatise mental health, and show compassion and empathy to those who need it most. Remember, suicide prevention is everyone's business 💜 #suicideprevention #mentalhealthawareness

No idea where to start writing this but the reason I did the challenge of 20 miles a day was because last month I attempted to commit suicide again. I’ve been hesitant saying anything as only close friends and family know but I think after this challenge it’s right to share what’s happened the last few weeks. It’s weird writing that after everything I have said about mental health over the last few months but only 4 weeks ago, I felt I was at my lowest. So much happened at once I felt so numb to everything and although I had so many people I could have spoke to- I made some silly decisions and I’m very lucky to still be on earth. Over the last few weeks I have been training and getting back to fitness and the real reason I attempted this challenge of running 140 miles in a week was to try get myself back on track mentally and also physically. My mindset on everything has changed this week and now all I want to do is a crazy challenge in the summer for mental health. I’d like to thank those who knew, that supported me and checked in on me. It means everything. I am not doing this post for attention or clicks just to show that mental health can affect people at any time. Life is precious man, don’t stress over what people have to say about you. Keep battling and showing who you are ❤️
