WIC inclusion of dairy-free milk is a first step in acknowledging the prevalence and impact of food #allergy and dietary restrictions pervasive in America. Flexible #foodassistance programs are critical to support safe eating and preventative #health. buff.ly/4eNTpTv

@AllergicLiving @Elijahsecho @oakley_red Very relieved to see the happy ending in this story. But community organizations such as childcare facilities have a responsibility to understand food allergies and get training on how to respond to reactions proprerly. What a terrifying ordeal for this young girl and her family!

An estimated 1/3 of allergic patients are taking medication that is unknowingly causing them harm due to the presence of allergens that are not labeled. The ADINA Act addresses this problem. @FoodAllergy @RepDeanPhillips

"What should have been a normal course of treatment with antibiotics turned into the scariest event of my life." The ADINA Act (H.R.4263) supports common sense change to allergen labeling on medication. @RepDeanPhillips @FoodAllergy

People with food allergies endure so much callousness and are often forced to educate others around them. Allergic people are hurt and exhausted by these comments which puts their health at risk. #allergy #travel #foodallergies

One of my slides sharing just some of the comments lobbed at passengers with a #foodallergy 😡 ✈️Reminder there are NO federal/international guidelines on how #airlines deal with passengers with #foodallergies -#foodallergies can/ have killed -deserve respect not ire #FridayMotivation

Labeling for allergens is critical to make good health decisions. Currently, allergen labeling is voluntary for alcoholic beverages with no standardization. Consumers typically purchase at night outside of customer service hours, making it even more difficult to get answers.

@AllergyStrong presented at the @TTB session on alcohol labeling today - strongly encouraging the agency to require disclosure of allergens in alcoholic beverages. In the US, alcohol is not required to list allergens, making it challenging for consumers to sip safely.

Work-related asthma tend to affect people who are already vulnerable due to social determinants. Work conditions such as manufacturing may make these people more vulnerable to severe #asthma. #AAAAI24
