This is an extremely clear violation of international and domestic law; someone who has won protection from deportation to their own country on account of persecution cannot just be deported to that country by “chain.“

This time in front of a bilingual elementary school in DC.
To evade constitutional protections, ICE relies on MPD to pull over immigrants for minor infractions.
Traffic stops then turn into deportations.

Highly recommended reading. The administration has been detaining and deporting survivors of human trafficking even though they are witnesses in law enforcement investigations and are supposed to be protected from enforcement.

Just had a refugee client released from immigration custody after 6 years, 1 month and 22 days in "civil" immigration custody. More than 5 different facilities over that span of time. Longest detained case that I've ever encountered.

New Post story reveals MPD policies that block relief for immigrant crime victims.
MPD refuses to certify victim requests in cases where an arrest is made — violating federal guidelines.
Instead, MPD sends victims to USAO, but USAO blocked all U-visa requests for most of 2025.

Homeowner waits until construction job is nearly done—then calls ICE on 6 of her own workers. Woman even provides the ladder used by agent to detain men—who she owes $10,000 for 3 day job. "She called the damn law on us and now we're totally screwed!" men yell in Spanish. "They surrounded us!—They surrounded us!" Agents even left behind the workers' van with doors wide open—filled with thousands of dollars worth of tools. The arrest was broadcast live for about 30 minutes by a co-worker—identified as Bryan Polanco. "Seeing it is not the same as experiencing it," he explains. "I’ve seen many videos, and sadly today I had to experience it." At the end of the video he gets the woman who called ICE on camera: "It is the same woman. Tidying up the house, and still with hatred in her heart." The incident occurred in Cambridge, Maryland.

Congress needs to impeach @USCISJoe immediately. By not processing applications, he's refusing to do his job, forcing immigrants out of their jobs to cause them to self-deport. It's criminal mismanagement of our legal system. And he's defrauding immigrants of their money.

42 new immigration judges and NOT A SINGLE ONE hired from the immigrant defense bar. Zero. One new judge’s last job was compliance at a biotech firm.
This comes after they fired/pushed out at least 100 experienced judges they thought might be too willing to grant relief.

TODAY: A Venezuelan woman with green card was detained in NY by 🧊. The Latina 🧊 officer told her the green card was “not valid” because it was granted under Biden.
The woman called the police. Officers showed up while she was being taken to an 🧊 office”and literally saved her.

I was the only member of Congress allowed inside, and the viral video is real—ICE is holding people in a 12-hour Baltimore facility for days on end, without showers, adequate food, or basic human dignity. This is unacceptable and un-American.
