Secretary of War Pete Hegseth
Joined my friend @KidRock — and some of our great @USArmy Apache pilots — for a ride this morning. (More to come on that!) Kid Rock is a patriot and huge supporter of our troops. The War Department is wasting no time celebrating America’s 250th — home of the free because of the brave.

@ryangrim FYI gerrymandering is named after 5th Vice President and MA governor Elbridge Gerry, who signed a bill in 1812 creating a partisan district in the Boston area

If you want a rare life, you have to be delusional. Doubt can enter your mind, and it can sound reasonable, but if you entertain it too much it will slowly drag you down into stagnation. I'd rather reap the lesson from massive failure than do nothing because it's not "realistic."

@REquallyCreated @MarcoFoster_ @grahamformaine 3. Top 1% wealth is largely capital gains, taxed at lower rates (0–20%) than ordinary income. A billionaire living off investments may have a lower effective rate than a salaried worker. 4. Paying 40% of income taxes but holding 1/3rd of the nation’s wealth is important context

@REquallyCreated @MarcoFoster_ @grahamformaine 1. That data is fed individual income taxes, not payroll taxes (SS/Medicare) > highly regressive & fall heavily on lower/middle class. 2. Bottom 50% still pay other taxes; State/local sales taxes, property taxes, & payroll taxes consume a larger share of income for lower earners

Graham Platner: “In 1990 there were fewer than 80 billionaires in the US. Today there are over 900. Do you see a state of Maine that is 10x wealthier than 1990? Have our wages gone up 10x? Do we have 10x the schools? 10x the hospitals? No, we have less. The money went somewhere and it wasn’t down here. it was stolen from us in a rigged system”

Two weeks without mobile internet improved mental health more than antidepressants and reversed roughly 10 years of attentional decline. Screen time dropped 49% (314 to 161 min/day).

⭕️ Someone Keeps Betting Hundreds of Millions on Falling Oil Prices Just Before Major Iran Announcements A pattern is emerging in oil markets that is drawing scrutiny from U.S. lawmakers and legal experts: large, well-timed bets on falling crude prices placed minutes before major war-related announcements. On Friday, investors sold roughly 7,990 lots of Brent crude futures in a single minute – worth approximately $760 million – around 20 minutes before Iranian Foreign Minister Araghchi announced the Strait of Hormuz was fully open. Oil then plunged 12%. It is the third such instance. On April 7, bets worth around $950 million were placed hours before the U.S.-Iran ceasefire was announced. On March 23, $500 million in oil futures were sold 15 minutes before Trump announced a delay to strikes on Iranian energy infrastructure — triggering a 15% price drop. The trades have fueled speculation about whether those with advance knowledge of policy decisions are profiting from one of the most volatile commodity markets in history.

BREAKING: Just 20 minutes before Trump's announcement that the Strait of Hormuz was open, massive trades hit the market. Investors sold a combined 7,990 lots of Brent crude futures, a $760 million bet that oil would go down. These orders were much larger than anything else at the time. The traders made huge gains. Unusual.

@OvatePenguin @sarahadams @S_Fitzpatrick @TheAtlantic I don’t even fully believe the story lol but her reading comprehension of it was just off. The article didn’t say a SWAT team had to request breaching equipment. Like she said, a SWAT team would already have it. She’s critical of a detail that’s not in the story

EXCLUSIVE @TheAtlantic On multiple occasions Patel’s security detail had difficulty waking him because he was seemingly intoxicated, according to info supplied to DOJ and White House officials. A request for “breaching equipment”was made because Patel had been unreachable behind locked doors. theatlantic.com/politics/2026/…

@sarahadams @S_Fitzpatrick @TheAtlantic The article clearly indicates his security detail requested the equipment and your reply suggested it was a SWAT team first. How would a SWAT team request breaching equipment first if nobody called them in? Hard night for reading comprehension apparently

@sarahadams @S_Fitzpatrick @TheAtlantic The people who requested the breaching equipment and the people who used said equipment could be two different groups. Your tweet was referring to whom requested the equipment. The article obviously reads that it was his security detail who requested it.

I have a hard time imagining a well-trained FBI SWAT team first needing to request breaching equipment as they should have it and then actually planning to use it on their Director’s door. Was that thought through logically at all before printing?! These guys aren’t the JV team. For all my complaints I have with the FBI, you couldn’t pay me enough to believe their breachers are this stupid because they surely are not.
