@freerobnz @RichardHanania Prior to Brexit, EU citizens coming to the UK for under 12 months didn’t need a visa & weren’t counted in immigration figures. Seasonal workers could come & go repeatedly. After Brexit that ended, and many were replaced by longer-term migrants from further afield who are counted.

Before Brexit, there were about 300K net migrants a year, mostly from the EU.
After Brexit, immigration shot up to 900K, and EU migration was negative.
It’s amazing how stupid Brexit was from every possible perspective.

My husband bought two KitKats one day.
One was for him and one was for me.
I ate mine immediately because that is what happens when you give me chocolate and expect patience.
He put his in the fridge and then left the next day for a two-week work trip.
That KitKat sat in the fridge the entire time he was gone. Every time I opened the refrigerator, it was there staring at me. I held out for several days because I am a supportive wife and I respect personal property.
But sometime during week two, my self-control gave up.
I ate it.
I fully intended to replace it before he got home, but of course I forgot. So when he returned from his trip, he opened the fridge, looked around for two seconds, and.........

As a Muslim, I’ll say what many Muslims are too scared to admit:
When people slaughter innocent humans in the name of Allah, quote Quran and Hadith to defend it, scream “this is Jihad” and proudly claim God sent them… don’t expect the world to just smile and clap.
Only a fool would pretend that kind of madness doesn’t make people fear Islam.

How the fuck are people on minimum wage in the UK meant to survive alone? The maths just doesn’t work. Take home pay for a 37.5 hour week (because nobody's paying breaks anymore) is around £1,700 after tax, national insurance and pension contributions, but rent alone somewhere cheap is around £800. Add £220 council tax, £350 utilities, and at least £70 a week on food, and you’re left with about £50 for the whole month and that's before transport or anything going wrong. Minimum wage doesn’t even cover basic living anymore.
