Saw a performance of Mrs. Warren's Profession by George Bernard Shaw last night. Written in 1893, every word felt fresh, vibrant, relevant. And that is rather astounding to me.

@TylerAlterman What do you think the reviews get right? (I haven't watched yet, but I'm excited to do so)

Tyler is finishing a book, slow to reply
Sometimes I feel like I'm on a different planet than reviewers. I think A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms is remarkable. It throbs with heart and the acting straddles the line I love between the realistic and the archetypical.

Terrific from @tylercowen: "If by any chance you are wondering how to make yourself smarter, learn how to appreciate almost everybody, and keep on cultivating that skill."

so most people think their pain is caused by structural damage. but what if it's a complex output from the brain based on perceived threat? the WHO says 85 to 90% of chronic low back is "non-specific." as in, like, it can't be traced to any underlying structural pathology. sure, dr. sarno was kind of crazy but people read amazon reviews of Healing Back Pain and their pain literally vanishes. do you read Max Shen at debugyourpain . com?

@chrislakin gosh, yeah. i used to experience a lot of sharp contextual differences in my charisma and humor. when i was relaxed, great. when i was tense, i was so confused: what happened to my ability to be funny??😭
