HMS Dragon’s mission is delayed… because the dockyard only works nine-to-five. A £1bn warship needed for a live security crisis — and we’re operating like it’s a council office. When Britain ran the seas, dockyards worked day and night to keep the fleet ready. Now it’s clock-off at 5pm. How did we let it come to this?

@TJiMTS In April 2025 we had 65 employees, we now have 61 to maintain the same wage bill. Those people left for their own reasons, but we aren’t rehiring to replace them.

Employer NI went from 13.8% to 15% in April 2025. The threshold dropped from £9,100 to £5,000. That's an extra £937.80 per employee per year. Since then, payrolled employees have dropped by 184,000 and unemployment just hit its highest level since 2015. Nobody's connecting the dots.

@RupertLowe10 How do u feel about venues such as the O2 charging customers £9.50 a small pint, £17 for a small glass of wine & £5 for a bottle of water without a lid? Not being allowed 2 take bags in & definitely not own food/drink. Agree rates r ridiculously high but this needs 2b looked at 2

More MPs need to start urgently pushing on the business rates fiasco because hospitality venues are facing an apocalypse. It is going to be a bloodbath. It needs to change NOW. Not months down the line, after owners are put through hell. A rethink is urgently required.
