I absolutely agree about the term early learning - and one of the key domains of contemporary early childhood where such early learning occurs is Early Childhood Education and Care.

@alphafemale03 I like it. Learning places agency with the child, keeping the individuality of the child centre stage. It’s an outcome not a process. Along with ‘Care’ it is independent of a specified environment and wonder was the rationale to include Childminders? Just an outside perspective!

Giulio Romano’s Fall of the Giants in the Palazzo Te in Mantua. The kind of room that most makes sense after a good lunch.

What should research in Ireland look like in the future? The Dept of Higher Ed campaign to gather ideas has so far generated mostly STEM-based suggestions. So what Arts & Humanities ideas do we want on their radar? Submit ideas at: creatingourfuture.ie Please RT!

It is a delight to witness Prof. Noirin Hayes receive the first ever OMEP Champion and Advocate for Children appointment. Noirin reminded us that when OMEP was established “the primary aim was driven from the heart..” ❤️

Understated Danish painter Vilhelm Hammershøi depicts his wife Ida from the back, holding a platter, with the light highlighting the nape of her neck, in the calm, uncluttered quiet of their Copenhagen apartment (1904). And I particularly like that blue and white tureen!

As we head back into a full lockdown, without even the consolation of warm weather and light evenings, we could really do with some more of Waldy and Bendy's Adventures in Art to cheer us up. Come on @JANUSZCZAK @arthistorynews - the nation is depending on you
