The @Apple slander has been interesting to watch. A company that single handedly defined multiple phases of hw/sw design and dev is not getting ANY press at all for their Vision of where UX is heading? Today’s users are glued to the device when Apple’s vision is clearly steps ahead

Sync engines can become DDoS botnets. Even at early Dropbox we had a secret "chillout" flag that told clients to chill for 10 mins when the server was dying. We used it every Tuesday morning. Nightmare "congestion collapse" scenario at Convex: everything fine → server hiccups → 10k clients start spam-retrying → @t3dotchat down → @theo mad → you have to fix it while still in pajamas. Don't roll your own sync logic, it's deceptively hard. We're the experts on it at @convex but hey, we missed something this time too.
