America’s credibility isn’t eroding—it’s evaporating. If you think the world is waiting for us to fix ourselves, think again. My new essay explains why global patience has run out: andrewweinstein.substack.com/p/the-world-ha…

🔥🔥🔥I’m at JFK and I was on the train leaving a whole bunch of TSA officers and they were bitching about having these ICE guys standing around doing nothing while they’re working their asses off and not getting paid! They are really really really mad and they’re not blaming the Democrats

Why isn’t the U.S. Navy clearing the Strait of Hormuz? It’s not just a policy choice—it’s a math problem. The current strategy involves a phased plan to de-escalate the Iranian military , but the U.S. lacks the "low-end" frigates and escort vessels needed to move 3,000+ ships safely. Our @wbaidlaw FBI clients filed protected disclosures to DOJ OIG abt unlawful firings. Instead of investigating, OIG declined bc of "limited resources" & wants to send back to FBI, i.e., investigate itself. The oversight system is broken. My statement: whistlebloweraid.org/doj-inspector-…

Yes, because undocumented people typically enter the country through commercial flights that requires multiple identification checks, a visa, and being put through immigration scrutiny. Makes perfect sense.
Aaron Rupar@atrupar

Q: Will we see ICE arresting illegal migrants at airports? TRUMP: Yeah. That's why the Democrats are going crazy. ICE loves it because they're able to now arrest illegals as they come into the country. It's very fertile territory.

5 minutes before Trump’s announcement: * $1.5B notional worth of S&P500 (ES) futures are bought in a single clip. * $192M notional of oil futures (CL) sold. More than 4x-6x any other trade size during the market close. Insiders profited from his lies in broad daylight!

@MarketPalmer_ Agree! But I'd add that it's possible/likely the small amount of extra each month (e.g., rounding up to the next $100) would never get invested because it's so trivial on a monthly basis & other investments are fully funded.

The biggest debate on finance X: Should you put extra money toward your mortage? The math answer: If your interest rate is lower than the return you could get investing the money, don't put extra towards your mortgage. The real answer: If it makes you happy, do it.

“We’re sending ICE to airports, but they can’t actually do any of the TSA work to speed up the lines and we don’t want them to scare the normies who hate the image of masked government thugs milling about uselessly looking for people to roust. So uh no masks please!”

It’s so ridiculous that our president governs by tweet and uses caps to make policy points I know it’s way down the list of what’s important, but the sheer amateurishness of governing by social media posts at all hours of the day is unreal when you think about it

An Israeli security establishment source tells me: “I’d approach this cautiously, with a grain of salt. It’s early Monday morning in the U.S., the start of the trading week. Markets opened higher, largely as expected following the weekend reports on the negotiations and the latest statement by Donald Trump. That said, I wouldn’t view this move as a final step. We saw a similar pattern last week. Oil prices have also declined, supporting the positive sentiment in the short term. For now, it appears he has bought a few more days roughly into week four, until the Marines arrive and complete their initial deployment and organization phase. The Iranians are already denying it”
Yalda Hakim@SkyYaldaHakim

TRUMP: I AM PLEASE TO REPORT THAT THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AND THE COUNTRY OF IRAN, HAVE HAD, OVER THE LAST TWO DAYS, VERY GOOD AND PRODUCTIVE CONVERSATIONS REGARDING A COMPLETE AND TOTAL RESOLUTION OF OUR HOSTILITIES IN THE MIDDLE EAST. BASED ON THE TENOR AND TONE OF THESE IN DEPTH, DETAILED, AND CONSTRUCTIVE CONVERSATIONS, WITCH WILL CONTINUE THROUGHOUT THE WEEK, I HAVE INSTRUCTED THE DEPARTMENT OF WAR TO POSTPONE ANY AND ALL MILITARY STRIKES AGAINST IRANIAN POWER PLANTS AND ENERGY INFRASTRUCTURE FOR A FIVE DAY PERIOD, SUBJECT TO THE SUCCESS OF THE ONGOING MEETINGS AND DISCUSSIONS. THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP news.sky.com/story/iran-war…

The 20-year Treasury yield just punched through 5%. That’s the bond market telling you something the White House press office won’t: the trade war tariff and Iran chaos is starting to look a lot like a self-inflicted credit event. Foreign holders are selling US Treasuries. Yields spike when prices fall. Basic stuff. Painful stuff. The downstream math writes itself. 7% mortgages. $4 gas. Here’s the part that should make you spit out your coffee: this isn’t happening because the economy is roaring. It’s happening because the world is quietly, methodically, repricing the risk of holding American debt. That’s a very different animal. The adults used to be in the room. The room is now on fire and someone is arguing about the drapes. Talk about a turn of events. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1

Absolutely incredible: The US 20Y Note Yield is now above 5.00%. At the current pace, we will have 7% mortgages and $4.00 gas prices this week. Talk about a turn of events.

1) Right after the treasury made massive shorts on oil, and before the markets open. 2) While Iran has said there are no on going talks. 3) While Israel has said there are more planned strikes. At this point it’s hard to believe the President isn’t just trying to manipulate markets out of desperation.
*Walter Bloomberg@DeItaone

TALKS PROGRESS, STRIKES DELAYED Trump: “The United States and Iran have had productive discussions over the past two days toward fully resolving hostilities in the Middle East. As talks continue this week, I’ve ordered a five-day pause on any military strikes against Iranian energy infrastructure, contingent on progress. Thank you. —President Donald J. Trump”
