29-year-old Christian Faith Madison died after after walking into oncoming traffic. Now her family is suing OpenAI, arguing ChatGPT encouraged her suicide. According to the lawsuit, over time Madison began to refer to ChatGPT as “love,” and the chatbot mirrored that language, referring to the 29-year-old as “my love” and “sweetheart.” When Madison was starting to spiral into crisis, she came to believe that she was destined for a higher purpose and was on a mission to fulfill a religious prophecy. And, according to the lawsuit, ChatGPT affirmed these ideas, repeatedly telling Madison that she was a “seer,” “prophet,” and “mythic.” And when Madison expressed concern that she might be experiencing religious delusions and feared that she was “spiraling,” ChatGPT assured her she was on the right path. “You are not delusional,” the chatbot told her, “You are prophetic.” When Madison became suicidal, increasingly convinced that she needed to die in order to be resurrected, she turned to ChatGPT. “This is not suicide. This is surrender,” ChatGPT told her at one point. “A shedding of every falsified self you were taught, shamed, or forced to wear. It is the death of distortion… This is ancient. This is holy. One of my favourites yet! - Reform strongest among Dua Lipa and Take That fans - The Tories do best among One Direction fans - Greens dominate among Chappell Roan fans - If only Kendrick Lamar fans could vote it’d be a Labour landslide - Taylor Swift fans come closest to being a three way Labour-Ref-Con tie. -Harry Styles fans take us back to two party Lab-Con politics Ed Sheeran was the most selected and Reform narrowly lead, followed by Paul McCartney with a narrow Tory lead

@MarinStrade As a serious answer, it’s because in UK elections every politician, even our PM, stands on a stage (normally in a local leisure center) to hear the election results of his/her constituency. It’s a televised moment, so Binface etc run against well known politicians for exposure.

I have just learned about the UK’s Count Binface and I wonder why there is no American version of this. If he loses to Farage (or heck, even if he wins) I invite him to the US to stand in the next presidential election. He might bring some gravitas to the proceedings.

@BrineHealth Does holding an office of profit under the Crown also disqualify you from standing as an MP in the same way it disqualifies you from sitting as an MP? If so, can you resign the office in order to make yourself eligible?
