I’m pretty sure this is impossible for most people reading this, due to the requirements of being within 100 miles of your current location and needing to be a natural feature that has existed for 100 years. For the majority of people, nothing within 100 miles of them was there 100 years ago, unless they’re standing near some big rocks or something (which someone else has definitely stood on)

@Aifeala @calintzart @RubyBenji make travelling organically fun or gamify the fast travel. kcd fast travel system is pretty cool, still a bit more shallow than it could be but at least the possibly of being ambushed is better than the feeling of teleporting ala skyrim

In many games, especially open-world RPG's, fast travel is a bandaid fix over a map that is needlessly large just for the sake of being large. I find that I can differentiate the reasonable/QoL type vs bandaid by how accessible it is: --

I've been playing and making video games long enough to identify this kind of take as simply not true. People always use this and many other arguments against QoL features and then when after 10 years we finally get the QoL feature, turns out: it's awesome and the game got better

@ddkesports the changes happened slowly, but i really preferred the way the game looked and moved back then. in the quest to modernise the game kinda became slop.
