@amronaldo Jobs are a responsibility of the govt. All responsive governments determine economic success by the job numbers. It is a major litmus test.

Otyoooooo! Now let us also restrict the convoys of Ministers to one vehicle. Those who qualify can have an escort vehicle but not these lead cars that keep pushing us off the road.
Ministry of Finance@mofpedU

RATIONALISATION OF GOV'T EXPENDITURE: The PSST Dr @rggoobi has said that effective next FY 2026/27, @GovUganda will not spend money on organising public functions (public holidays) including: Women's day,Labour day,Independence day etc). He says money will only be spent on the few religious functions. According to Dr.Ggoobi,H.E the President @KagutaMuseveni will address Ugandans on Radio and Television from State House, adding that the money saved will be used to finance the priorities of Gov't (ATMS & Enablers).

Seen reporting that AI labs like Anthropic and DeepMind are quietly hiring philosophers. Yes, actual philosophy PhDs. From shaping AI “constitutions” and alignment to tackling machine consciousness, these thinkers are wrestling with the big questions engineers alone can’t answer. And they’re not stopping there. Historians, anthropologists, poets, novelists and lawyers are joining the fray to improve training data, ethics, and societal fit. Who knew the humanities would stage a comeback in the AI age? (Uganda’s humanities-hating President Museveni wouldn’t take this well). The future isn’t just code; it’s values, culture, and wisdom too. #AI #Philosophy #Tech

With all due respect, I think you are the one with pedestrian thinking and a malwa thinker. Mention one serious country that allows citizens with duo citizenship to hold key positions in government? Having said that I believe in the capacities of the individuals in question. I also advise them if it becomes necessary, they should denounce their other citizenship.
Anthony Natif@TonyNatif

Prof, don’t you think the appointing authority @KagutaMuseveni has access to his own government’s Attorney General? But also this: “if allegiance to the Republic of Uganda requires certain categories of leaders to denounce other citizenships, where is the problem?” Where do you get this mistaken belief that being a dual citizen somehow confers less loyalty/allegiance to the republic? You should be above such pedestrian thinking. Are the government officials currently stealing more than 10 trillion UGX a year in corruption dealings dual citizens? Can they be said to bear allegiance to the republic simply because they only hold one passport; the Ugandan one? As a Professor and dude who runs a university, this level of “malwa joint reasoning” should be beneath you.

That’s my point . Gen Museveni arrested these individuals because they were supporting his opponent, then why are they still being incarcerated now that he has already forcefully sworn himself into office? The whole world knows they did not commit any crime. Let him free them.

Don't set a precedence where the regime will use its opponents as collateral to intimidate them from exercising their political mandate to choose and elect their own leaders independently. The political prisoners MUST be released unconditionally and compensated as well.

Yusuf Nsibambi and Anita Among are now stranded on the political veranda together. All the lavish praise Nsibambi showered on his embattled recruiter during his NRM crossover yielded a grand total of zero rewards. He managed to lose on two counts: flushing his credibility as an outspoken lawyer down the drain, while still walking away completely empty handed. Not even his sudden desperate fashion obsession with yellow shirts and ties could score him a ministerial appointment. @YNsibambi, what number is this political reality??

Counting all individuals holding ministerial portfolios, Uganda’s executive lineup ranks the largest in Africa, numbering 82 positions including the President, Vice-President, and Ministers of State. However, the country ranks only 13th by nominal GDP and 9th by population size across the continent.
Charles Onyango-Obbo@cobbo3

M7’s new cabinet suggests a play for tight personal control, loyalty-based stability, and incremental balancing rather than grooming an obvious successor or signaling a clean 2031 exit. Museveni has just begun the 2026–2031 term; by its end, he’ll have ruled for 45 years.
