Being a New Yorker is about accumulated experience, I think. Have you paid too much money for too shitty an apartment? Have you gotten a bacon egg and cheese at 3 AM? Have you ever ignored things on the subway that would lead the local news in Indianapolis? That’s a New Yorker.

As a New York private school kid I feel comfortable refuting this: I know a lot of transplants who are much truer New Yorkers in that they’ve had a much more authentic experience of New York than people who were born here but insulated from those experiences.

FIFA confirm single-player walkouts won’t happen at the World Cup.
They will instead debut what is being called a “fan-centric pre-match ceremony” intended to showcase squads not just starting XIs. As revealed, the walkouts remain non-traditional.
All players will stand in the centre circle for the line-up reads and national anthems.
There will also be creative new visual elements, including the use of hand-held flags.🏆
