@LinkedInLunat1c addendum: it's not like hiring/firing is free so it seems odd to go through the process of hiring someone just to play this game with sick leave. much more efficient to be clear on the real expectation. how does this bait and switch benefit anyone really in the end?

@LinkedInLunat1c This is fake but I'm confused why they are giving 30 days of sick leave in a year when its a red flag to actually use it? They should offer the actual amount of sick days they will accept lol.

This equals to roughly just over 1~ sick day a month…and only half the amount that they state their workers are entitled to.

After getting off hormonal birth control it can take months for your cycle to return to normal - if you even can remember what that is after all the time you've been on it. Now that women are trying to have kids in a much smaller window of time, imo it makes all the sense in the world to be wary. It doesn't seem like doctors weigh the back end issues very highly, they only really care that you're infertile if you're directly telling them you want to conceive in my experience.

The arrogance of doctors is unreal. I’m not categorically against hormonal birth control, especially for women who know they would abort in the event of an unplanned pregnancy (at which point hormonal/IUD is most reliable), but the real reason women are turning against it is in large part because they’ve personally had terrible experiences with it, not because someone said something mean about the Pill on social media.

I've had the coil myself and I thought it was very good, but having it put in was undeniably an unpleasant and painful experience. Women know full well that getting the coil fitted is painful and aren't being fooled by the standard NHS "just take some paracetamol" line. Pleased to see there's now a campaign to get all doctors to offer women better pain relief when they get the coil. thetimes.com/uk/healthcare/…

Mary Harrington just isn’t very smart. How exactly did the pill make “refusing extramarital sex vastly more difficult”? Does she think a guy trying to pressure a girl into sex would be deterred by “I’ll get pregnant”?

@UnsureKris @Fat_Electrician Good point. But do u not think we essentially are going to pay the wage increase in higher costs? At the same time putting much of the middle class closer to the poverty line. Its the ugly truth. All while we have more billionaires every week.

I fucking hate the “minimum wage is for high schoolers” talking point. A. No it isn’t, that’s historically inaccurate. B. Telling a kid to work hard and earn money the “right” way, then turning around and saying he deserves less just because of his age is bullshit. Pay should be based on performance. Nothing else. If you’re against raising the minimum wage, that’s fine. Make a better argument that isn’t belittling kids trying to work hard and earn something for themselves.

Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson: How does this work? Are you suggesting when a baby is born people have to present documents? How are we determining a newborn child is a citizen of the US under your rule? Are we bringing pregnant women into depositions?

@Zoya_ki_batein I think its also partially that the flowy dress is probably a bit more "in style" but everything has to be a moral quandary now. A lot of conversation about taste and style has been collapsed into this sort of language.

@TBerlaga @VeryBadLlama Correct. Invading the Middle East, putting tariffs on food commodities that we don’t even grow in the USA, and pissing off every trade partner we have were objectively Trump policies that raised prices.

@dilanesper Aviation is a federally regulated industry. By law, Air Canada needs to provide equal communication in French and English. Rousseau has repeatedly fell short. But what really hits here is one of the pilots who died is a Francophone and a Quebecer, and there was no respect given.

@dilanesper the concept of someone with the last name Rousseau hating Frenchies has had be rolling all week. It seems weird that this guy could never get a handle on French but it probably has more to do with being old and busy than maliciousness.

there's an absurd irony to these events. During World War 2, Canadian aluminum production supplied about 35-40% of all Allied requirements. When U.S. Defense Production Act was passed in 1950, Canada was given unique status as "domestic" production as a //secure// producer. Instead of building on that relationship, Trump implemented tariffs on Canadian aluminum, which resulted in US importing aluminum from Persian Gulf nations and Canada sending much of its aluminum to world markets in Europe and Asia. The Trump policy was to replace secure aluminum from Canada with insecure aluminum from inside the Strait of Hormuz. All in the name of national security.

“cancel culture” is entirely dependent on the fan base and corporate media (as those are the only two groups that can make people famous) the industry/corporate media has “cancelled” kanye west several times, but his fans do not therefore he can skate right past it if you guys want to see women survive “cancel culture” stop holding them to crazy standards and getting mad about bullshit lol

The great thing about Sola Scriptura is that every day’s a new day! Did Mary have other children? "Of course" XYZ. Did generations of men smarter and holier than me think different? Doesn’t matter! I read the thing and I have an OPINION What a wonderful basis for a religion
Lyman Stone 石來民 🦬🦬🦬@lymanstoneky

It’s a very fun troll Of course the truth is Mary did have other children, and also that Paul was a married man. Some traditions really are incorrect, even if pious
