That history cannot simply be erased when it becomes convenient. Political differences are expected and even healthy in a democracy, but they should not descend into personal antagonism. South Africans deserve leaders who rise above personal disputes and demonstrate maturity, respect, and focus on the issues that matter most to citizensservice delivery, economic growth, and good governance. Continual personal attacks undermine these priorities and distract from the real work that needs to be done. You have an opportunity to lead with dignity and to elevate political discourse in South Africa. That begins with moving away from personal criticism and engaging in principled, issue-based debate.
