I’m not a fertility expert but I feel like if a sperm isn’t healthy enough to swim and fertilize an egg successfully, there is an evolutionary reason for that. I feel like ultimately this would just produce more chemical pregnancies/miscarriages, and children with birth defects.

As a woman who exclusively breastfeeds this immature and embarrassing attitude makes no sense to me. My husband works hard to allow me to be home with my babies, to have no schedule outside the one I make for myself. It doesn’t matter if I have a rough night bc I can rest during the day. Also I want him to get a good night sleep so when he wakes up in the morning he’s ready to work and fulfil his responsibility to our family as the provider. We did agree that this would be the set up before getting married, it’s what we both wanted and I’ve never held any resentment towards him for not waking up with me at night with the babies. He’s never resented me for never paying a single bill lol I don’t even know what he would do if I did wake him up, as we don’t do bottles. A gendered division of labor in the home just simplifies everything. We have never had a fight in 7 years over household chores, childcare, finances, cooking etc. I don’t expect him to do my job and he doesn’t expect me to do his. We are just really so grateful to one another. We know that neither of us would have what we have without the work and dedication of each other. These hellish modern marriages with no clear division of labor are just inefficient, disorderly and breeds conflict. Hard pass.

@i2cjak Safe sleep seven also states you shouldn’t cosleep if one parent uses a CPAP. What are parents meant to do about that? Should I kick my husband out of our bed? Cosleeping just doesn’t work for everyone and I’m tired of people pretending that it does.

Babies are not meant to sleep on their own. They don’t know they’re separate from their mother. They are her nervous system. Infants cannot self-soothe… their brains aren’t wired for it. They co-regulate or they panic. Sleep training doesn’t teach independence, it teaches shutdown. Call it what it is.

Big-Baby doesn’t want you to know that you don’t need a crib, a crib mattress, three sets of crib sheets, a baby monitor with night vision, weighted sleep sacks, or the owlet sock if you just co-sleep. You might just even sleep better too.

Traditionally it was socially acceptable for a 16 year old woman to marry a man who was 10-15 years older than her. Many people in modern times consider this immoral, and it's illegal in many states and western countries. I would much rather have my daughter marry a mature man when she's 16 and start her family young, rather than have a string of boyfriends (or worse) until she finally gets married at 30-40 and has 1-2 kids if she's lucky - which is the new normal for women. Do you side with tradition or modern thinking on this issue?

If only we could admit, once and for all, how insanely widespread it is for adults to sexualise little girls. It's everywhere in our culture, and yet we believe that sexual abuse is rare and unusual. So girls must be "crazy". Like Britney. Like Virginia. Like so many girls.

If your definition of equality requires mothers and fathers to be interchangeable, I have news for you: your equality comes at the price of child harm. Babies don’t need a plastic nipple and industrial formula loaded with corn syrup, emulsifiers, stabilizers and preservatives so adults can congratulate themselves on "fairness." They need their mothers in ways they do not need their fathers. Only mothers produce living, adaptive, organic food, perfectly calibrated for THAT baby, male or female; adjusted when the child is sick; responsive to stress; changing across the day; with hindmilk that develops the brain and body in ways no factory can reproduce. That nourishment comes from her body alone, never his. And this isn’t a slight against fathers. Fathers do essential things mothers cannot do. Real equality does not mean sameness. It means honoring difference without forcing children to pay the cost. So stop measuring everything through a child-oppressive lens of adult gender equality. Children are not obstacles in your ideological experiment.
